Coldness lasts only a few minutes
There's no way around it, because this ice pack is small and discrete the coldness only lasts a couple of minutes. You'd be better off with heavier alternatives or just putting a beanie in the freezer.

Doesn't last as long as you expect
As the gel material is quite thin and there are so many contact points, even if you freeze this, you'll get (at most) 30 mins of cool time (dependent on weather and your activity). I can definitely see this being used at construction sites where they have access to a freezer or fridge, so that they can pop this in and recharge the coolness. Otherwise, for most people, you would most likely use this at home instead of on the go (unless you freeze this and pop it in a cooler with an ice pack). I tried to freeze this, put in a cooler and bring it to the golf range as it was about 95 degrees that day, after 15 mins of use, it didn't do anything anymore. It would definitely work for yard work where you can pop it on and once the cooling is done, rinse it off and pop it back in the freezer to be ready for round 2. If you've got disposable income and willing to spend some extra, get 3 of these and swap them out during your outdoor work and you will definitely stay cool even in the sweltering heat.

Great idea in theory, but not effective enough for me
When I was Offered this to review, I jumped at the chance. I am one of those people who always sweats from my head and hate wearing hats because it always makes me hotter. The idea of this cooling pad seems so genius to throw on under a baseball cap. The instructions it comes with are pretty basic. They are in Korean first and then translated into English so possibly there is something lost in the translation. Per instructions, you can cool this pad down with either cold water or by putting it in the freezer. I used the freezer method both times I wanted to use this. I left it in the freezer for about 25 minutes which was a little longer than it states is needed. And then threw it on under my baseball cap. It was great for about 10 minutes… And then I didn’t notice it anymore. It essentially warmed to my head temperature and was not giving me any cooling sensation anymore. I could remove it from my cap and then cool it down pretty quickly, but that really doesn’t help me out much if I have to keep cooling it back down. If the cooling sensation lasted longer, I would give this a much better review.

Top-down cooling!
Anyone working out in the summer sun can appreciate how your hat starts to feel like a convection oven atop your head, especially a not well-ventilated one! This little insert makes all the difference in the world! It's not just the moisture, it's the design - promoting evaporative cooling. Some outside jobs require a little more head protection - like trimming trees and waving 10-foot 2x4s around, and that can feel a little torturous in the sun. This little insert will help tremendously and for not a lot of investment.Out here in the desert we use every single option available to endure 110+ degree days, of which we have a lot in the summer. This will be another bit of artillery in the fight against summer heat fatigue.Be kind to your outdoor worker and get them one, even if that outdoor worker is you.

Very thin, only lasts 2-3 min
I love the idea of this, but in practice, it didn't work so well. I used this on an extremely hot day and was excited for the coolness on my head. I am a woman and I'm not bald, but thought it would be great to cool me down regardless since I have an autoimmune disorder with heat and sun intolerance. Right out of the freezer, this worked for about a couple of minutes. I thought maybe my head is so hot, I'll put it back in the freezer and try it again. The next time I put it on my chest, which was also super nice and actually fit well with all the movable pieces. Again, it only lasted two or three minutes and it was room temp. Super disappointing, but it is very thin so not much freezable material in there I think. It's a no for me.

Like the idea a lot, wish it lasted much longer
I really like the idea of sticking these in my hat when I mow, but it stops feeling particularly cool on my head way too quickly. I can't be stopping my mow every 15 minutes to refresh the cooling wrap even if it takes less than a minute to "recharge" it's cool temperature. It would slow me down way too much. It also seems like it could be made a little thicker to allow it to stay cool longer and still be comfortable. In practical use, it fit my regular hat just fine inside and was not uncomfortable, and it did work for as long as it stayed cool.

Flatter than I thought but gets cold quickly! Feels comfortable on your head
Not sure what I was expecting but this head wrap is very, very thin. Once you put it in the freezer, it's frozen in about 15-20 minutes and it's nearly invisible under a hat. It does seem to stay nice and cool when you're wearing it. The thickness of the head wrap makes it comfortably cold and I imagine if it were thicker it might be too cold directly on your head. This would be great for anyone working outdoors this summer! Or even someone doing recreation or sports who can wear a hat. I would think you'd need a few of these to rotate. Thumbs up!
