This product is a solid thick piece of plastic with tape on the back. Light will not pass through. However, it seems to stick well and looks great. Well fitting. Looks like original button now.

It’s what it said it was and looks great no light comes through but like The other reviewer said if you don’t know where the button is you shouldn’t be driving

2011 X3...Just a TAD smaller than the original button, so line it up correctly. It is not a see thru button, so no light will shine through, but that is no big deal to me (if you don't know where the start button is by now......).The button (sticker) is very clear and legible, soft to the touch, and looks FAR better that what was there.Happy with the purchase.

I drive a 2011 BMW 328i xdrive. I did not think to take a before pic, but all you Bimmer drivers know that the paint on the button rubs off and the ring around the button chips off, mine was bad. I wanted to find a low cost and even more so an easily installed solution to this annoyance. I did not want to go through the trouble of removing the trim and replace the button altogether. I could not be happier with the fitment of the sticker cap. Went on perfectly, but again much like all the other reviews, expect to loose the illumination of the button. As you can see i installed a carbon fibre ring around the button. I did that first and the button cap alligned right into place. For now this will get 5 stars, i will update this review when i am or am not totally satisfied that the adhesive can handle the southern heat of Tennessee.

Had the typical start button wear on my E90 2006 BMW 330i. I placed this on there and it looks great. You lose the illumination but I don’t care about that. Having a new looking button is more important. It fits well and it adhered fine. Time will tell if it holds up. But for $10 I can’t complain.
