Restored my faith in reading!
I heard about this because of the spice.. there was very little spice.. but I wasn't angry at all. I got an amazing book instead that has turned me into an addict!! It's so so rare that a fantasy book can keep me entertained but damn was I entertained. I gasped. I laughed. I wriggled my feet like a teenage girl. I LOVED it. This is the only series I've read so far that has not bored me once. I haven't skimmed once. There hasn't been too much of this or not enough of that.. it was perfect. Truly. Well done author!

Wow. That was a ride!
I delayed reading this for a few reasons. Mainly as I didn’t think I had the brain capacity for new world building. I would say, this definitely was easier to wrap my head around than some big fantasy books. There was a good level of depth and detail but a lot of it was scattered around the book so it wasn’t overwhelming. The map definitely helped! And most of the creatures are fairly familiar. After the first few chapters it was pretty easy to get. And by the time the two MCs met, I was hooked! What I loved:🖤 This is true enemies to lovers. Two creatures from opposing sides for millennia. She tries to kill him. He literally tortures her. *swooooonnnn* 🥰🥰🥰🖤 The slow burn. For a god he’s fairly oblivious around his own feelings, probably due to all his mess in his own head. It’s a real slow burn, which I always prefer in fantasy as it allows it to be more plot driven than smut driven. There’s only really one spicy scene, but it’s a goodun!🖤 The jealous / possessiveness from both sides. What territorial creatures they are! 😅 I love it! Especially during the Camilla scene and the anger every time they refer to each other as friends.🖤 The sort of language barrier. A micro trope that I love! I loved seeing Liam trying to learn the modern language, especially when Dianna’s swearing rubbed off on him and he was scolded by Logan!🖤 The plot and villain. Kaden is terrible but he’s a good villain. Very keen to see the development in the next book. And the search and race to get the book, was fab!🖤 The ending. Well I didn’t actually love this but it was GOOD! Oh god, I’m scared for the next book, that’s all I’m saying!I’m also really intrigued by the wider characters. I really loved Drake for a mo and hope he doesn’t actually let me down!!Anyway, a solid 4 🌟. Excited to read the next book!

Without spoilers : very well written, captivating story and the characters are amazing.Mild spice, similar to A court of thorn and roses in that respect.

Wow.
Loved this book and really looking forward to the following books. This story follows enemies Dianna and Liam. Ig'moruthen and world ender as they learn to help one another whilst searching for the book of azrael before brilliant villain Kaden gets it first. Definitely recommend for fans of romantasy. More fantasy than romance.

4.5 stars
⭐️4.5 stars⭐️ 🌶️🌶️Wow!! I am new to fantasy and this book just makes me want to read them all. I will be reading this entire series as I need to know what happens!!! I will say the chapters at quite long but I did enjoy the book!!Dianna is a badass and I love her so much. She is a monster who can shape shift and she was created by Kaden. She is his weapon. When she gets into a fight with a celestial she calls upon anyone who would listen and down came a god. Liam/ samkiel is AGHH!!! I love him so much!! He is an immortal god who trapped himself away from everyone only to return and learn the new language and try and stop another threat of war!!

Not worth the hype
Whilst the story was ok, the book was boring! The hype this book received did not meet my expectations and sadly I was very disappointed. The world building could have been better and the characters a lot stronger, I found myself not liking or disliking any of the characters.

One of My New Favorite Fantasy Series
📚Book Review:📚"It was the most selfish desire in the world, but I wanted her more than a crown, more than a throne, more than air."Book Ratings:5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2/5🌶🌶Trope:⚡️Morally grey FMC⚡️Slow burn⚡️Enemies to lovers⚡️Touch her and ☠️⚡️Dual POV⚡️Cinnamon roll MMC⚡️Feminine rage(See trigger warnings) I want to start off by saying that I am obsessed with this series. I’ve read many, many good books, but it has been a minute since I have been this consumed by a fantasy series. Consumed and I can not shut up about it. With that, let's get into the review. The world building was delicious and set at a leisurely pace that didn't leave me confused or struggling to keep up.The settings (both past and present) are unique and have a slight science fiction feel.Moving on to the main characters. One thing I adore in a FMC is strength. For me, it turns a good character into an amazing character. Whether mental, physical or both. @amber.v.nicole did not disappoint. Dianna is a B.AD.A.SS. She's fierce, protective, strong, oh and just happens to have a ton of magical powers. I also related to the way she turns her vulnerability into peckish, humorous comments. Her relationship with her sister?! So, so sweet. Gabby brings out a side of her that no one else can and Dianna would literally burn the world for her.Dianna's relationship with Liam is a bit more complicated. After his past trauma he is left a shell of the being he once was. Plagued with nightmares that bleed into his current relationships. Thanks to the stability/support Gabby provides Dianna, Dianna is able to do the same for Liam. The journey to discovering each other, underneath everything, is one of my favorite parts of the book. The banter is 🤌🏻.Oh and don't get me started on Kaden! He is... well I haven't figured him out yet tbh. I'm hoping book two provides a more in depth look into his mind and background.Overall, this book is full of surprises, obstacles, humor, tears and a slow burn. I mean it buuuuurns baby! I am so glad I was able to buddy read this. We enjoyed it so much, we are now reading book two together. For any fantasy lover, I highly recommend. 🫅🏽🐉🌌⚡️🔥⚔️ 🎭First impressions:Dianna- badassKaden- viciousGabby- kindheartedLiam- brokenDrake- charmingEthan- stoicAlistair and Tobias- corruptLogan and Neverra- Tough outside, ooey gooey insideVincent- disingenuousCamilla- manipulative

Im so ashamed because it took me so long to read this book, maybe because of the name or cover that just didn’t make it interesting to me. Finally, a refreshingly different Romantasy!
Wow. Wow. Wow.All I can say is… why did I put off reading this for so long? I LOVED THISEverything about this book felt so unique and different from everything I’ve ever read. The world building was fantastic, the characters were dynamic and complex, with flaws that made them feel so real.Dianna - Finally we have an FMC who is truly morally grey and insanely powerful. But also she has the biggest heart and is fiercely protective. I loved her to bits 🫶🏻Then we have Samkiel aka Liam. A demigod MMC who is also insanely powerful. Watching him heal and go through his trauma was a journey. The way he slowly opened up to Dianna had me melting 🫠The slow burn in this is delicious, can’t wait to see their relationship develop in the next books. These are two characters that will truly kill and end the world to save each other and I was 100% here for it 🔥
