QuickBooks Online Practice Set: Get QuickBooks Online Experience using Realistic Transactions for Accounting, Bookkeeping, CPAs, ProAdvisors, Small Business Owners or other users

This book fills a much needed gap for those who have trained and not yet had actual hands-on experience. I would also liked to have had some year-end practice exercises.The reason for 4 stars is because the 2013 used copy I received is not up-to-date with the recent changes to QuickBooks On-line's latest format. This made it hard to follow in some instances - instructions and screenshots in the book didn't match up to the current software layout. I was able to figure it out but found frustrating being new to QuickBooks. That's not the author's fault (bought in 2016). If QuickBooks is continuing to yearly tweak the software, perhaps an on-line ebook that can be easily amended/updated would be cost effective to both the creator and purchaser's needs. The author's dedication to education (also YouTube videos) is excellent.

Updates in QBO have made the 2015 version unusable without some modifications. First and foremost, you cannot use the address provided in the book or you will get an error message that you cannot get past. I spent 2 hours on the phone with QBO trying to resolve with no avail. I ended choosing a random business' address and then modifying the tax amount on all of the tickets ran to "Weekly Sales" so that my numbers would match up to the book. You cannot manually adjust the tax percentage any longer, which is why the error. It was useful in some areas like entering and tracking inventory, but more complex situations are not covered (i.e. entering a sale that also has expenses tied to it).

I was so happy to find a practice set from start to finish, but the sales tax isn't accurate, so it didn't balance like it should have. . Also there was a mistake that I found on the Sales by Product/Service Detail Report on page 68. Lynn Sampson did not purchase a Monthly Membership, she purchased a Personal Training session.It is so hard to find practice sets that are accurate. I would love to find more of these with different businesses for practice.

I am becoming a Pro-Advisor and moving my clients' books over to QBO, so this practice set, which consists of a quarter's worth of transactions was really helpful to get me going on QBO. I am accustomed to Quickbooks Desktop, so needed to learn to quickly find things and run reports in QBO. This book did the trick.I just wish there were even more transactions! Maybe they can make Book 2 and Book 3 or something like that, with different industries.Anyhow, this is a great learning tool. When you make mistakes and have to find them so that you balance to the reports, that's another exercise.

What I loved about this is the practice company to start from scratch to input. But because I used a fake company on qbo I cannot undo this. So the “free” 30 days is used on a practice business. I will have to subscribe for a real business.

Very good review for using quickbooks Online. I would have given it 5 stars, but I found an error in the last practice month. For the money I paid I would have liked at least 6 months of practice and no errors. But over all a good practice book. I haven't found anything else that gives you good practice in Quickbooks Online.

This book was recommended to me by an Intuit employee as a good place to start with QuickBooks online. I scanned through it and it seems to answer a lot of questions about starting up a company's books online using QuickBooks. I was also looking for a highly rated program to use which QB is, if you're interested. It is also highly used by professional accountants.

Even though I bought QBD to learn and teach myself and QBO differs. This helped me to learn how to maneuver and learn the QBD workflow. Glad I purchased this. The date is outdated. Just change the date to the current year!

I am finding that I need to call the quickbooks helpline on almost every page in order to do the exercises.

I dint find much useful, just basic use.
