CE MAINS HOME CHARGER FOR AMAZON KINDLE Wi-Fi 6" E INK DISPLAY

It does charge, although I'm not sure if its supposed to turn my Kindle 'on' when I plug it in... A minor irritation. However it does charge it overnight to 100%. My only gripe with this charger is that the lead is very short and for instance if I'm running low on battery but want to keep reading whilst its plugged in I can't because it won't reach. But then again I've saved money buying this one instead of the official Kindle charger. It is different to the one pictured too - mine has a red light on the top which isn't too bright to keep me awake or anything but it is not in the picture which isn't great to sell something different to the one pictured... However the light is good as it reminds me to unplug it as chargers get hot when left plugged in. Good build quality and does the job, plugs in fine. Except as I said earlier it turns my kindle on when I plug it in, so I press 'shut down' again thinking that's it... But then if I slightly knock this lead it turns my kindle on again! Obviously there is something not quite right there but its not life threatening (I think...) so never mind.

Bought the charger over a year ago and haven't used it very much as I only tend to read my Knidle when I'm on holiday, went to plug it in last night and the charger blew up !!!! There was a loud bang, a smell of burning and a black scorch mark on the wall next to the plug socket. Fortunately the circuit breaker worked and the power came back on and I was able to reset my Kindle. Had an electrician come in to check that the plug socket was ok. No damage was done except to our nerves but strangely, I recently purchased a charger for my husbands new TomTom and it was identical to this explosive one, time will tell if the same happens again! Perhaps these cheap generic chargers are not quite up to safety standards - buyers beware!

I had actually forgotten I ordered this nifty little charger, so it was a very pleasant surprise when it arrived a couple of days after placing my order. The cord is a great length, not so long it gets in the way, but long enough to be able to plug it in to awkward plugs a distance away. The charger has a green light when it is plugged in but not active so you know the power supply is fine, when plugged into the kindle, it glows red to show it is charging...either way, it's very useful in the dark and your battery is running out....what is even better, is that the adapter is the same as my blackberry curve 9300 so i can charge my kindle and blackberry in bed without having to drag my laptop up to bed with me. Great little item. Highly recommended.

Bought at same time as kindle as it didn't come as part of the kindle purchase. As it is essential to the ongoing operation of the kindle, include in the purchase and adjust price accordingly. In the end when it arrived saw that it was exactly the same as my phone charger so didn't need to buy it at all. Never used but good to have as a spare/backup.

What can I say about this charger, other than it charges nicely, and it's very cheap compared to the official Kindle mains charger?I would, though, like to point out that I had brilliant service from the vendor. Royal Mail lost the item, but on hearing from me about this, the vendor sent me two chargers by first-class mail at no charge. I can now charge my Kindle at home and at work ! I wish all companies did this.... Top class.
