Smaller than what we expected but looks fun!
We ordered this for our almost 2 year old son and when we received it. We were shocked at the size of it. Smaller than what we thought but excited for him to play with it.

My sons favorite toy!
My 1 year old son LOVES this toy! He will sit for an hour straight pushing the buttons, turning lights on and off and recently learned how to put the key in the slot to turn that light on. The construction of this montessori toy is outstanding.. pure wood, all laser cut and clean. The battery box uses 2 phillip screws to hold it closed, you can use the tip of the supplied keys to open it in a pinch.. it holds 2 AAA batteries, and I recommend using rechargeables for this device as your little one will be playing with it a lot!We brought this on a 7 hour trip to Mexico and back with my son, and it kept him busy during the take off and landings. He would stick his tongue out and concentrate on learning how to turn every light on the entire time he played with it.The dial knob is a bit stiff to turn with an infants hands, it requires quite a bit of force to spin. Outside of that, this is a solid 5 star montessori toy for developmental learning!

Lights - Buttons - Switches and Keys to keep Busy
I think this busy board would be really interesting and fun for children. It is suggested for ages 1-3 years in the description. I don’t really agree with the 1 year old idea as far as just handing it to them to play. The metal key going into the switch wasn’t terribly easy for me to insert, so I don’t think a 1 year old will have the ability to do this part. On the box it is rated for 3 and up then the insert says anyone under 3 should use with supervision only. So if the child you plan to purchase this for is under 3, plan to put the key into the switch for them and possibly the rca style plug into the fitting. Once this is done, I agree a 1 - 3 year old would find this to be delightful to turn the dials, flip the switches & push the buttons on and off along with the wooden gears that spin. The lights are colorful and I’m quite sure that it would hold the attention of a child for car trips, doctor visits or anytime you need them to sit and play quietly. The finish is smooth and what I expected from the photos. It measures 6 ½” x 7” ( 16.5 cm x 17.75 m ) The back side is flat wood that is painted with colorful numbers. I think the numbers would be helpful to practice counting. It requires 2 AAA batteries (not included) but does have the driver that is needed to put the cover back on the battery compartment after they are installed. Watching to be sure the rope connecting the keys and the connector stay in good condition, I don’t see a reason this toy won’t last for years.

Hours of fun!
Our two year old is a switch flipper, button pusher, tinkering kind of boy and this was just what we needed! As soon as we had batteries installed he was off and going, he carries it around for a couple hours turning the lights on and off. It works great in the car too, he can stay engaged with the board and not got grumpy. It works great for color identification too, I ask him to turn on the red light and he can push the button or turn the knob accordingly. Our 3 year old also enjoys it when she can get a chance. One thing that would be nice is if the keys were double sided and could go in the slot either way. Kids in the targeted age range are just trying to get the key in the slot, lined up. It really frustrates our 2yo when he gets it lined up and it won't go in.All in all it's well with it!
