I only speak English, and without this translator, I would not be able to do business in Miami. It is so easy to use. I press and hold one button, and when I release it translates everything I say to Spanish, and then I hand it to the other person who presses another button, and it translates what they say to English. Can’t get any easier than that. There are no subscriptions that I have to subscribe to like other translators and it hooks directly to my phone’s hotspot.

It doesn’t understand well when you speak with it, either online or offline setting. Not worth at all, I’m returning it.

I had high hopes not just for using this device for travel but also for it to assist me in speaking more Spanish, which didn't work out. While the accuracy of translation was the best of any of the devices (not online translators) I've tested, the weaknesses of this, and from what I've seen so far, all of the devices out there, are too significant to ignore.Any device that doesn't have a physical button to start/stop translation I found to be an issue, as the process of translating is slow enough - hovering your finger above and around a touch screen that's not always on (as you do have to save battery, and it does timeout) is not practical at all, and becomes cumbersome and frustrating. For this and others, the mic has to be pretty close to you unless you are in an entirely quiet environment, which is impractical. The voice-to-text in the native language, before translation, is not good at all, and you feel silly repeating yourself over and over to try and get a proper translation. All the bells and whistles are just fluff and distract from the product's primary function.One other small but significant feature that most of these devices lack, including this one, is the ability to quickly type words/phrases via a keyboard easily in the chat window --. I didn't think I'd need that feature, but it turns out that without this feature, when you're in public, in a loud area, or want to prepare what you'll say, you're out of luck.I'd suggest using your phone (or an old one), and Google/Microsoft Translate (or even ChatGPT) will serve you much better. It allows you to download offline dictionaries and language files, has conversation mode, and is always up-to-date.

it does translate good for me.

It is not at all a smooth experience like the product description claims. There is a frustrating delay between pressing the “start listening” button and pressing it again to stop, and that makes it miss the beginning of the sentence you are trying to say (so it therefore ruins the whole meaning of the sentence) and also makes it pick up extra words at the end.The voice is very artificial as well but that’s whatever. Though there are plenty of options out there to make it sound nicer.Using software on my phone has been a much better experience including the free option offered by that big search engine.

I bought this translator for my recent trip to Spain. The main reasons I bought this product were that it was a standalone translator with downloadable languages and scanned text translation.After I arrived in Spain, I carried this translator in my pocket just in case I found the opportunity to use it. That was when the problems started. First, the unit got warm after a while and the battery was draining quite quickly. The settings (voice volume and brightness) also seemed to change randomly. Worst part was that the unit flagged an error that I need to download the language again even though it was clearly downloaded. This rendered the unit completely useless without access to the internet. The Wifi also could not connect to the hotel's wifi which needed authentication with the guest room number.

Great product, works well. Could use control and interface upgrades.
