I have other space heaters, but I was looking for something a little more energy efficient. I haven't received my latest power bill, but the features on this heater leave me hopeful. This little heater has a lot of nice features which include a remote controller, oscillating operation, three fan settings, automatic ambient temperature read-out, remote temperature adjustment, timer feature, and an eco mode for power saving. I was surprised how quickly it cut the chill in my 360 sq. ft. living room. In a 6" x 18" package, it's a little power house.

I wanted something small with a remote control that had a digital display and it oscillates. I have had other Lasko products and have been quite pleased. So when I came across this gem it immediately caught my attention. It uses AAA batteries which are easy to install in a very user friendly remote control. The instructions are simple and easy to follow and anyone can figure them out. The digital display is easy to read and the features are quite accurate. This would be excellent in a small space but I am using it to take the chill off in a large area. This extra burst of heat makes all the difference when you are in a large cold space. It is lightweight, even quiet when the fan is engaged and the oscillating range is just enough. If you put your hand out in front you can easily feel the heat 2 ft away. The remote has a great range for convenience or you can manually make selections. The cool thing is, the first reading you receive on the screen will be the temperature in the room. Then you select the temperature you desire and that number flashes until it sets. The temperature in the room will go up as it gets closer to your desired temperature. If you reach the maximum temperature it will maintain that level. It will shut off 2 degrees above that max. If the temperature falls below thats level it will turn back on. I am using this in bright light so I don't think the remote glows or illuminates in the dark. If it doesn't that would be a great added feature. Awesome little mini dynamite. It's time for me to order another one just to have on hand. One for work and one for home.

Our living room is on the north side of the townhouse and gets very chilly in winter, with heat going right up the stairs. I wanted a small heater to keep my legs warm as I work at my desk, but it had to be small enough to store out of the traffic pattern when not in use, and not noisy as I am sometimes on the phone. This little heater has worked very well for me this winter. I never use the remote, so I can't comment on it. I find the control panel a bit confusing, can't get it to reset to the temp I want and stay there, but my husband has no trouble doing so. Admittedly, I am tech-challenged and digital stuff and I are not very sympatico, so take it with a grain of salt. I like the oscillating feature, it warms the whole room without burning my legs. I don't have a lot of leg room under my desk, so it sits on the floor beside the desk tucked away until I need it. I have a toddler grandson, so I like the tip-over turn-off safety feature. Overall, a great heater, probably my favorite that I've ever owned.

I have tried several compact (10-12”) ceramic convection space heaters and found this 12” Lasko ellipse tabletop heater (CD12950) and the Dreo Atom One (HSH004) to be two of the best. Both generate a lot of heat for such small units and include remotes as well as an oscillation mode, but overall I liked the Dreo heater slightly better (sold on Amazon at https://a.co/d/3WRLdEA ). Here are the pros and cons of the Lasko 12” ellipse heater relative to the Dreo Atom One: PROS • Generates a bit higher heat with a slightly stronger fan • Sleeker, less bulky appearance • Timer can be set in 10-minute increments up to an hour (then hourly up to 12 hours) • Oscillation from side to side is a bit quicker (with a slightly narrower range of motion) CONS • Slightly noisier ~4db (although still fairly quiet, especially at the two lower speeds) • Temperature light is fairly bright and stays on continuously (only an issue in dark rooms at night) • Thermostat is not very accurate, so heater rarely turns off automatically in Eco mode (forcing user to turn it off manually when the room gets too warm) • Buttons on top of heater are sometimes hard to press (same issue on Dreo) and glossy black surface near buttons shows fingerprints • No automatic countdown to cool down unit with fan after turning off heater • About $5 more expensive when both units are on sale I would also consider purchasing the Dreo Solaris 317 which is newer than the Atom One and looks a bit more modern (taller & thinner) with the heating fan element being slightly taller than the Atom One enabling the air to circulate a little higher off the floor.

After several years of using Lasko products, I'm happy to say that this small heater is just as efficient and dependable as their larger models. In fact, I've found that it will heat a larger area than specified. All adjustments for temperature, rotation, auto shut-off, force of blowing air, timer, and auto shut-off based on a set time or on a temperature work well. (There are a few more setting options that I have yet to try.) It's perfect for any room, especially given it's small size and low key design. It gets high marks from me.

Perfect for hitting my camper about 250 ft.². Product is stable, quiet, accurate temperature control, looks stylish. I like the remote control and the turn off if it gets tipped makes me feel safer using the product.

There are a lot of reasons to buy this. If temperature control with thermostat is one of them, you will be disappointed. Remote is a very nice feature. Heat output is excellent, though it really needs an actually low heat setting. Low heat on this still outs out a lot. Too much, really. You don't have much of a low heat option. The thermostat problem is severe. It's either a design defect or a cheap part. It's almost unusable. You'd think it could be off and you'd figure out by how much and adjust. But it can be off 5 degrees from one day to the next as to what it thinks the room temp is (when it's the same). So, knowing how much it's off does not help you because it may be different the next day. Tip over off feature is really good. Vastly better than with Honeywell tower type heaters. On those, if you pick it up to move it, it turns off and you have to reset everything the way you had it. With this Lasko model, the tip over safety is internal so you can move it without having to reset things as you had it. Don't know about you, but I often turn on a little heater like this and then move it a foot this way or that or turn it a little more toward or away from me. This model does not go off when you do that but absolutely turns off if you tip it over. Nice unit that is deeply flawed by the terrible thermostat. Another flaw is that there is no seriously lower heat level. It draws 1300 watts on high, 1160 watts on medium, and 900 watts on low. 900 watts is a lot more heat than you sometimes want out of a small heater. Would be a lot more useful if lowest setting was 300 or 400 watts. I have had this a year or more now and just got on here to reduce my rating because of frustration with this. You can kind if have a lot of heat or pretty darn much heat. Not low heat. 2 stars. Update. Started making fan noises after about 9 months.

Excellent, small heater. I used this all winter in Southern California. I live near the beach and it gets cold in the morning. It’s perfectly heats my bedroom and I love that it has a remote and also a timer I could I could leave it on and then turn it off right before I left for work highly recommend Lasko for small and large heaters…
