Complex game guide and amazing concept art ideas in one book
In fact less artbook then guidebook. But these few pages, with used and also unused concepts, makes this book definitely worth buying. Lots of creativity and its design is clean—which is not so often possible to see in case of gaming artbooks.

Great piece of Gaming history
Love the book . It’s technically a strategy guide, and it is technically 100 percent in Japanese , which I can’t read lol. The real draw though is that it is full of concept art . I received it in great condition and it was bubbled wrapped within the envelope to protect it during transit. Book was especially goodCondition considering it is a nearly 20 year old book and a paperback no less .If your a fan of SOTC you will LOVE this .

Beautiful, such a shame that it was never translated in English
I love collecting artbooks of all kinds (video games, animated movies, etc.). As a huge fan of the "Shadow of the Colossus" game, this book has been in my wishlist for a while.Sadly, its scarcity makes it quite expensive- it was around two or three hundred dollars for a while, finally dropping to seventy-ish in the recent weeks. It's still expensive for a book, but what the hell- I just went for it.It does not disappoint - beautiful concept artworks and art from the game. If you loved the game, you will love this. Now sadly all of the text is in Japanese, and this was never translated, so if you're not a speaker of the language, you'll have to content yourself with pictures. That being said, some fans have translated portions of it (especially the final chapters about the concept colossi), and some Googling will add to your experience of the book.

Best book of all time
This is the best book of all time, even though I can't read kanji, it brings me joy to look upon its pages. Not only is it an artbook that shows the concept art of Wander, Emon, Mono, and unused colossi, it is a guidebook. Having trouble figuring out how to beat Phlanx? No problem, just look on page 116! Wondering what you'll get if you beat the time trials? Simply look on page 158! This is a highly recommended book, by the biggest Wander to Kyozo fan.

Secrets, Secrets Everywhere!
Monster designs, unused assets, in depth look into the world of Wander - there is nothing this book does not have for the extreme fan of SOTC. It's a hard book to find now, and worth it if you can get your hands on it.

I wish there were more concept sketches
Considering how rare this seems to be, I managed to get it for pretty cheap. It arrived on time and in good condition.I knew it was all in Japanese when I got it, but I've read that fans have translated some of the pages, so I do plan on looking at those. The language barrier is not too bothersome, just slightly annoying. However, I wish that they had less screenshots from the game and more concept art--it is an art book, after all. I'd say less than half of the book is concept art for colossi and environments; I wish it had been over half, really. Perhaps the text next to the screenshots is more storyline information? I'm curious to know if it's just a basic summary of the game or more like developer's commentary. If it's the latter I would find the lack of art more acceptable.Anyway, the game is beautiful and ethereal, and I think the book doesn't do it complete justice. However it's still worth buying if you can manage to get it for a lower price than say, $70.
