Q: Would these be too noisy in a semi-hollow body custom 22?

What kind of sound are you looking to achieve? These are very bright pickups. The treble is cranked, and the bass pickup is great for the clean channels.

Q: Can you this pick up be coil split?

It makes a different tone when I pull up on the tone knob on my PRS. So I guess it can. Fyi my PRS guitar was a trainwreck from the factory, I had to have it rewired along with fixing many other things. The pickup sounds great, however seeing that PRS did nothing to make this brand new guitar right and I had to pay over $500 just to get the guitar playable…. I can only hope PRS goes out of business!
