Q: Hello, are the metal rods removable?

No the metal rods are not removable. I think that this is the best back brace and I have had a few. This has a lumbar pad that cushions your back. I wear it all the time when I’m working or just when my back starts bothering me.

Q: What Size would you recommend for a man with a 32 inch waist and 40 inch chest?

Be sure to measure exactly like they show you in the illustration. Don’t measure your stomach but under the breast bone
