I like that it is a simple music instrument that you do not need any directions on how to use it. I also like that it has the bass that was added as another feature with the drums. I just got this item today and so far this is fun to play with! The sounds are bass synths that can be changed from low to high, and the electronic drums tempo can be changed with the turn of the tempo knob. The stylus is ideal, which is attached by a wire to the beat instrument. And the metronome can be used to keep the drums in the same beat. There are also 2 additional functions, which is the patrn and the trnsp. This gives the option of making the song longer and giving it glitch and filter effects too. The instrument box itself is plastic, however, it is still durable. There is the volume scroll knob and the on and off switch on the side of the box, and it also has a headphone output too. There is also an indicator light that shows that the box is on, which is the color red. As for the age range, this can be used for a 7 yr. old kid to a senior citizen that is a musician. It is because of the semi-sharp stylus that I would not recommend for kids under 7 to use for safety wise. I am a musician and I bought this to see if it can be used for music and it definitely can! It is affordable and the sounds are beautiful! I plan to buy more of the Stylophone products in the future.

It's limited but it is a lot of fun to mess around with, cool little beat maker. I like to make beats and play guitar over it, works great for messing around or writing at home.

This thing is amazing!! So much fun! Within literally seconds you can make a layered beat any style you want from techno to rock to hip hop. Nothing to download, nothing to cue up. Don’t like where the beat is going, just flick it off then flick it back on, BAMM you got a clean slate to start fresh! I am a hip hop head from the days of way back who always wanted to mess around making beats but I know little about how. This allows me to jump right in, great job guys!! Maybe one day there will be a wireless stylus upgrade, other than that bravo!

Got this for our musically inclined 8 year old grandson to see if he gets it…or wants to Considering the attentiveness of kids these days is measured in nano seconds and everything’s about AI enabling the fact the little guy is taking to this the way he is is quite impressive…good thing he doesn’t read my reviews because if he did he’d know that assuming he sticks with it, the plan is to move him up from here by December…the real ironic part is that this is more versatile than the Roland TR whatever I bought in the 80’s

This was pretty awesome. Downside is that this was purchased as a gift for someone and we wanted to keep it. It looks much bigger than the product from the pictures. We thought it was going to be almost cassette sized, but was actually small novel sized. The sound was as depicted in the videos from the listing, it was loud enough to hear but not so loud as to be annoying. Would definitely purchase again to keep instead of as a present. If you love to play with music, this is the thing for you. This was purchased for a teen. As little as 5 or 6 years(with adult supervision) would likely find this fun to use. However, I would not purchase this for someone smaller than about 10 due to the likelihood of smaller hands having potential to hurt the item.

I bought a normal stylophone and the stylophone beat, and I returned the normal stylophone because the stylophone beat was just better and more fun in every way. I would strongly recommend this product to anyone who is even a little bit musical!

I LOVE IT and so does my 11 year old. This inspired me to buy two more stylaphones for better mixing and I also just started making longer loops with my looper pedal and adding in guitar! My daughter, who is pretty musical figured it out right away and is spending lots of time with the drum and bass, then singing at long. This thing is so cool!
