Solid bookcase - worth the money
We bought the Hemnes Bookcase from Ikea a while back and really like it. It is solid wood and has a sturdy feel to it, unlike some furniture from Ikea. You can adjust the height of the shelves, which is nice if you have books of various sizes. I tried to buy another one today but the store was out, so a number of other people must have felt the same way.

The item is nice but......
In the end the unit was nice but getting there was a nightmare. The unit came with incorrect parts. When I called to have them ship the new ones the answer was sorry can't help you.... Pack the whole unit back up and return. You ever bought a KD unit. No way are the parts getting back into the box. I had to go out and find a carpenter to custom make the missing parts then stain them then put the unit together. It wa that or write it off as a total loss. I will never ever buy anything from Ikea again. Plus I am telling every person I know about the experience and to stay away.
