The Anderic learning IR remote arrived in a plastic bag and stuffed into a soft envelope. Thankfully it wasn't damaged. It's a tad larger than I expected, but still comfortable to hold. The lanyard is perfect for hanging the remote out of the way and within easy reach. The buttons are large and feel responsive. I installed a pair of AAA batteries (not included), and followed the simple directions for learning commands from a 20-year-old Sony receiver remote. The OEM remote has a confusing array of tiny buttons, and I often accidentally changed settings. The receiver is in my shop and pre-programmed for my needs. All I want is a simple way to power the unit on and off, and to adjust the volume. This Anderic remote is the perfect solution. I advise using the learning feature in a low-light area, as direct sunlight or strong LED lighting could interfere with the learning process. It's also best to teach/learn one button at a time, and then exit the learning mode. Then go back in to learn the next button.

Buttons are large and easy to read, only includes what is absolutely necessary...just what my 94-year-old grandfather needed!

Great for seniors. I bought one for my 80 year old father because he kept hitting the source button on the remote. This solved that problem. Simple remote with very few buttons. Haven’t had one issue with it. Paired it with a Samsung model tv and works well.

This company says how easy it is to program! GRRRR! I can only get it to turn on/off and sound up/down. When I reset it according to instructions I get the same problem only for the sound the up arrow turns the sound down and the down arrow turns the sound up! My TV is on the list of compatible TV's.

Worked on an older Visio tv with no extra setup. I bought this because the staff at my mom’s memory care were leaving her tv on at night. Visitors would turn it on with the regular black remote but no one would turn it off if the visitor forgot before they left. There is no guess work about what button you have to press on this remote to turn the tv off. I used Velcro tape to attach it to the wall and it seemed to work because her tv is almost never left on anymore.

Got this for my 94 Y/O mom who kept pushing every button but the correct on her tv remote. All she needed was an on/off, volume and change changer. Simple to use and didnt have to program it. Used directly out of the package. Made her life easier, not to mention mine as well. Highly recommend for seniors.

The direction are not written well. Had a difficult time setting up the remote.

This remote would have been absolutely perfect for my senior mom with vision issues. Before you purchase, please be aware that it does not work with Astound (RCN) services. Please check with your provider first. The Astound remote is not a full IR remote so this Anderic is unprogrammable. Just double check with any cable / wifi provider before trying to get a different remote for your elderly family member.
