Autodesk Revit 2024 Architecture Basics: From the Ground Up

So many unclear directions!
This book is extremely frustrating because it leaves out so many steps to actually accomplish anything. Luckily ChatGPT can usually fill in the gaps. I would never recommend this book to anyone, but unfortunately I'm taking a tech course and all the assignments are based on this book. If I were learning Revit myself, I would find a good course on Udemy.

Good to Learn but can be Frustrating
Rating the book 3/5 at most. Don't get me wrong, you learn a lot, but you get frustrated as well. I mean that quite a few of the exercises are not clear (e.g., where exactly to split a wall), others don't give the expected result if you follow the instructions perfectly, and some exercises need further instructions and images to show what the author/instructor is talking about. Couldn't finish some of the exercises and save them because there were errors that occurred due to following the instructions as states. Some exercises need more image and instructions as to how something is done step by step rather than what the author used to achieve that result without the steps involved. The book in to learn Revit from scratch, but the instructions are at times presumptuous about what the reader knows. When you go to the next exercise file (next step), the design can look a bit different than what the finished previous one looks like, which makes the instructions more confusing. The exercise files also have to upgrade for the 2024 version, meaning they were clearly done in a previous year. Some of the exercises don't work and errors appear not mentioned by the author. All of the exercises can be done (or should be able to be done) in metric or imperial but some of them only have instructions for metric or imperial, and sometimes the results look different than in the book. To the author and company, make sure all of the exercises are doable in Revit 2024, and please take the reviews and recommendations and implement them.
