good hammer
this have a little more weight at end than the "tomahawk" style, so work better. just wish the other end was blunt

Great Neuro/ PM&R hammer
I love this hammer. Lightweight but solid point of contact, and competent swing arc. It is great for a neurology or PM&R-inclined medical student, in my opinion. Price is good when < 20 USD

Good hammer
This is a very sturdy reflex hammer. Great weight. The sharp tip for sensory testing has a nice silicone cover, but it does come off accidentally at times. It also can come unscrewed easily. Overall I am pleased with this tool.

A big honking reflex hammer.
This is an excellent reflex hammer - the round head and the long stem mean you get the reflex the first time, every time. It also has a "sharp" tip at the end which isn't very sharp, and not particularly useful where sharp sensations need to be discriminated from dull sensations - a neurological hammer with a brush and pin are a better choice if you need that. Only reason I am not giving this a 5 star is because I found a hammer that is even longer with a flexible stem. You won't go wrong though, with this "combat reflex hammer."

Best one yet.
I have tried different reflex hammers, including my stethoscope and this one is by far the best because it is weighted. Will definitely get the reflex no matter now light you tap it. You definitely do not need to put your wrist into it unless you want the patient jumping off the table.

Perfect for me
This was a gift during my neurology rotation and I absolutely love it. It's so much easier to elicit reflexes than with the hammer. And the red tip is useful just as part of mental status exams. No problems at all with durability. Great deal

Ideal weight balance and features help with neurological exams
I like using this hammer because its weight distribution is ideal, and the integrated point allows me to complete simple neurological examinations quickly. Plus, its unusual design often elicits questions from patients, and give me a chance to tell them about Dr. Babinski, for whom this hammer is named after.

No regrets
I love it I use it during my clinical examination and OSCE and I can elicit the reflexes just fine, alot of doctors recommend the plastic rubbery hammer but I think this one is better because when it you hold it correctly the weight of the hammer become one hammer head rather than your hand

Portable, good hammer for students.
I’m an MS1 in Canada and I love this reflex hammer. We have clinical skills twice a week, so I like to keep all my instruments in my backpack and not have to worry about whether I have something or not. His hammer is nice and compact, but still has the weight to it necessary to test reflexes. A neurologist will tell you the best kind of hammer is one that’s a little longer and has a plastic type handle, but this one has worked great for me.
