Hella 7 inch H4 Motorcycle headlamp
My 2009 Harley Davidson Softail's headlamp developed a fog coating on the interior after only 5000 miles of use. I suspect that this was due to their using a plastic reflector which out-gassed residual chemicals from the plastic. Hella utilizes a glass reflector and a precision focused, glass lens with a broad lower beam with an up swept cutoff to the right for better visibility of road signs. The Hella beam is much brighter and better focused than the HD headlamp. I had used Hella in the past on my automobiles and have always been impressed with their quality. While maybe not as "blingy" as the HD crystal lamp, it looks way better than the fogged lens and excels in performance. The headlamp comes with an 80/100 watt bulb, so ordering an additional one is not necessary. This is not clear in the Amazon part description.

Very nice upgrade to my 2007 Ural Gear Up
Recently bought a 2007 Ural Gear Up side car motorcycle. The original headlight is a sealed beam. Wanted to go LED so needed a replacement to fit the stock housing. This Hella 7” looks great and is well made. It fit the existing housing perfectly and works great! Came with a nice H4 bulb I’ll keep as a spare. Very pleased.

Exactly what I hoped it would be
I've used this lamp for about 9 months as of writing this review. I wanted a lamp for which I could carry a replacement bulb (my bike had a sealed beam headlamp, and I once drove for half a day looking for an auto parts store on a long trip. A sealed beam is a HUGE and fragile item to carry on a motorcycle). This lamp is great. It gives bright, white light, and has a great beam pattern that lights up the road, signs, shoulder, but doesn't shine in on-coming drivers eyes or reflect back into my eyes in fog or rain. This is a great lamp! Now, if it only cam in selective yellow...

Good on Triumph Bonneville
This headlamp is good on my Bonneville, it's a direct and easy installation. My stock headlamp got cracked so this was a required repair and not simply a performance upgrade; that said, it focuses the light pretty well and is definitely better than the stock headlamp. While it doesn't appear as bright as some of the higher-end headlamp setups I've seen on the same bike with the same bulb, it's very cost-effective. Note that my headlamp arrived with a standard 60/55 H4 bulb and NOT the 100/60 mentioned elsewhere with this product. This was a disappointment, but USDOT doesn't allow us to have higher than 60/55 so I'm guessing that's why we're getting the lower-wattage bulb here.

The Best!
I've been using these headlights on every car and motorcycle I've owned since the early 70s that will accept these lights. Not only are they significantly brighter than sealed beams, the way the lenses distribute the light on the road is masterful. If you shine these lights on a white wall at night you can see the sharply defined pattern of the light. You'll see that the light doesn't go above a certain line so you won't be blinding oncoming drivers as you're putting the bright, white light on the road. You'll also notice that extra light is directed to the shoulders of the road to help you see hazards, signs, driveways, etc. With all those lights I've owned, over all those years, I've never had one burn out or fail in any manner. I'm going to put these in a '51 Nash convertible because I just found that those crafty Germans even make 6-volt bulbs for these H-4 housings (though Amazon does not carry the lower voltage bulbs). Disregard the sticker on the bulb housing that says they are not legal for on-road use. Those go back to the bad old days when all U.S. headlights had to have sealed housings (sealed beams) because someone feared dirt or water could otherwise get inside. American headlight laws changed on that point decades ago so those stickers are no longer relevant and should not be on the housings. Nighttime passengers in my cars with these lights very often comment about how good the headlights are. How often has that happened to you? You won't be sorry--the cost of the lights versus the effect they give makes them a really good value for nighttime driving ease.

A little deceptive
Headlight is fine. However the one I am replacing has a parking lamp in the housing. The box this one came in states that it too has a parking lamp and its designated catalog number says so. The housing that was in the box differed from the box's description as it had no parking lamp provision

Cost effective upgrade from incandescent sealed beam
Use the included H4 halogen bulbs or pair with your choice of H4 LED. Much less expensive than the specialty "collector vehicle" marketed options. Actual glass lenses and mirrored metal body. Not as convex of a lens as the original incandescent sealed beam but still keeping the period look with much better visibility. Perfect fit. Amazon's packaging left much to be desired. Factory paperboard box was shipped in an unpadded plastic bag with no "fragile" or "glass" labeling. Box was nearly destroyed upon arrival inside of the bag and the bulb retaining tabs at the rear had been bent from banging around. Lucky the glass lens or the included bulb was not cracked. Was able to bend the tabs back in to their correct position and avoid a return and scrapping the product. Should have been shipped in a cardboard box with padding.

These rock!
I purchased these to replace the Sylvania's in my '85 Mercedes 300D. They go in easily and fit perfectly. Just take the 3 plastic knobs off the back of the headlight assembly and remove the panel that surrounds the headlights in the front. Then, there are 3 stainless steel screws that hold the chrome headlight retainers in place, which in turn holds the headlight solidly in place. These Hella's fit perfectly and do they pierce the darkness! Just in case you are wondering, they do come with the Hella 60/55W bulbs that you can also order here on Amazon. I wasn't sure and ordered 2 bulbs, so now I have spares.

Strong and well made
I bought a set of these a year ago to replace my 1985 Land Cruiser's halogen sealed beam lights. The old sealed beams were not much more useful than vaguely shining a candle into the distance. These lights however, are incredible. The lens angles the light in the right way, with a really clear cut-off, and they're well built too. Two months ago, I got into a crash at 90KPH. A car ran a stop sign and pulled in front of me on the highway. The entire front corner of my car was bent and twisted, but the light still worked, and wasn't even scratched. I have to say I'm impressed. Not many lights can hold up to a 90kph impact and shrug it off.

Misleidende titel maar goed product
Het is een misleidende titel… “ montageplaats links/rechts - hoeveelheid 2” dan zou ik toch echt verwachten dat ik twee stuks geleverd krijg… product kwaliteit is echter wel goed.

It works!
Huge upgrade on my almost-dead tungsten filament sealed beam unit on my 1974 Suzuki GT750. Have to use a few washers to space the bezel properly, otherwise it is a perfect fit. 10 minute upgrade and now I can see at night.
