Every time I buy something he groans, insists I send it back, insults my taste, etc. Now that we've used it, he likes it. The best feature is it will aim the fan back and forth so each person on our porch gets a good breeze for a moment. A constant breeze is a bit annoying.

I live in hot and dry Arizona. It's impossible to sit outside and enjoy your yard from June through September without some kind of way to cool the area. I had gone to the local warehouse sized hardware store and picked up an evaporative cooler that promised reductions of 20 degrees. That more expensive unit was junk. All it did was lightly blow hot moisture. I returned that one and watched for a different solution. This unit seems to meet all our needs. I did have to wait a little while to hook it up because I needed power and water to the area I wanted to put it in. That is a consideration when deciding on this unit. You need an outlet or an extension cord and a source of water. There is no holding tank. You need a hose. Once I finally got it hooked up, the unit worked like a charm! The volume of mist is perfect for our sitting area, and the mist feels cool and refreshing in the heat. It is a little bulky to move around and does not have wheels. I have no problem moving this, but if my elderly mother tried, I don't think she'd be able to do it. You do need to watch to make sure the water hose does not kink anywhere. At first I was not getting any mist. Once I found the small kink in the hose and straightened it out, everything worked fine. If you want to enjoy your outdoor areas even while it's a bit hot, this is a great cooler to have! The fan is strong too. I'm pleased with this mister fan and it's a great value!

The fan window itself is so small that the amount of area covered is minimal and the fan itself does not rotate, instead four bars inside turn left to right. Forget about the misting option. You have to connect it to a hose and it does more soaking then cooling. If I had not mistakenly thrown the box away (Recycle Day), I would return this fan in a minute. Very poor product for the money.

I really liked the idea of this product. I imagined putting it on our back patio when entertaining and keeping us cool with refreshing mist. When I tried it out, I couldn’t believe how powerful it was. You have to place this tower well away from your guests and food or everything will get drenched. This tower is best for a large space so you can be sure to have it a good distance from everyone. It would be nice to have the mist adjustable. The cost of it may be too much for many. And it takes up a fair amount of foot space so plan where you place it. The cord is generously long, so you need to consider that as well so people do not trip on it. I wish there was a way to wrap it and hang it on the tower or have a retractable cord to adjust for the space you use it in. You can use this product as a fan only without the mist which is good. Assembly and hook up is easy.

We work in construction and have used similar on jobs sites before and at home on our deck and patio to help cool off in the warmer months and this is one of the nicer ones that we've used. The fan is well-made and it has a solid base that supports the fan. The misters seem well designed and are precisely angled to direct the cooling mist right into the fans exhaust path. Set up is very easy. The misting jets are maintainable unlike other brands that if you have an issue like a nozzle getting clogged you basically don't have the misting feature. Not with this model all of the plumbing parts can be easily maintained (by design) I really like that the connections (plumbing and power) have decent length cords/hoses and that the unit has GFCI protection built in. We often put them out on hot days too at home because after using them for several years we noticed that the hummingbirds appreciate them too.

It took a while for this review to happen, as we wanted to thoroughly test this fan before writing this review. After several sessions, I must report that we are absolutely happy with this Lasko Misting Outdoor Fan.It works easily with or without the water mist, so it can be used indoors without the mist, and outdoors with. The mist system really works. Really really works. We found that the fan was a bit too low for most effective use, so we placed it on a milk crate to elevate the fan, and then it was perfect. The fan itself does not externally rotate, only rotating internally, which makes placement on a stand work very well.We have actually been enjoying our patio for a change, even with the heat wave we have been having.It is easy to use, easy to set up. The garden hose attaches easily, and there are not leaks. The mist is STRONG at its highest setting. Perfect for >100 degree temps. And the fan is STRONG on its highest setting. Again perfect.An ideal pairing of mist and wind. The price is a bit much, Lasko. I hope that changes.A misting fan that we can get behind. Well, get in front, actually!

I do not like it at all. I would be sending it back if my husband hadn’t destroyed the boxes. This is a picture after one time use. It soaked everything in site. Not a nice mist as advertised. Total waste of money.
