Great Lock and Support
Simpled Chrome Doorlock Review 08 June 2022 This lock bas been installed now for around 8 weeks, during that time it has had its problems and I have needed to speak to support on their whatsapp chat. Here is my honest review of the Simpled Smartlock. Firstly, as you might expect, the installation. After researching this type of lock for 2 weeks I had made up my mind to go with Simpled, reviews seemed to point to good aftersales support which is important to me. I spoke via whatsapp the Simpled about the lock and if it would work on my composite door and they asked me to send some photos via whatsapp which I did. They stated that it would 99% work but may nned some modifications to the door. ( see photos ) I ordered and it arrived promptly, unboxed and read the instructions and started to fit it. Im quite DIY orientated so nothing seemed too daunting to me, other than drilling a 25mm hole in my door!! after some measuring, trying the handle to make sure it would fully function, I drilled the hole, actually a lot easier than I thought and luckily?? it didnt hit the existing lock mechanism ( its very close ). ( see photos ) The handle fitted fine and the instructions are actually clear, the fiddly bit is getting the outside wire through the new hole to the inside of the lock. Screwed it all up and went to put the batteries in, now it becomes clear why you need that 25mm hole, you have to push the slack back into the 25mm hole, if you dont then the batteries will foul on the wire and you cannot get the final cover on. Be warned! Now the lock was fitted, batteries in and you can hear it working, theres some beeps and a voice. Grabbed the phone, added the app and setup my account, and added the lock,VERY easy. Proceeded to add my thumb print, I did it 4 times, Terry 1 to 4 as the naming. Pressed it a few times, it unlocked then locked again after 5 seconds, all good, or so I thought ;) . I then added one of the ic cards, you ONLY get 3, bit tight in my opinion, 4 would have been much better for a family. So, there it was fully fitted and working in under an hour.... Then the wife came home, added her thumb print same as mine, Elaine 1 to 4, all worked great, then I locked her out for a laugh, she pressed the sensor, error, after 4 attempts the alarm sounded on the lock which meant I had to open the door and use the phone app to reset it. How annoying. We readded her thumb but this time 8 times, Elaine 1 to 8, same issue, I thought it might have been her handcream so got her to wash her thumb and try again, it sometimes worked but it was 50 / 50 which just isnt good enough, so back on whatsapp I went, this is where a company can fail miserably or succeed. Simpled support is great, you can talk to someone, an actual human, they know their product so can answer without the " Ill get back to you " stuff. I was pleased, after some to and froing they said they would send me a new handle.... to be continued. While waiting on the new handle I installed the Wireless Gateway, the bit that allows you to remote unlock and lock the door plus some more monitoring, alas this is where this product drops the ball, its slow as a snail when used, my signal according to the app is WEAK, I have an Eero Mesh network at home and a ring doorbell next to the lock so WiFi is not an issue, this leaves the Bluetooth connection to the lock from the Gateway, I have tried moving the gateway closer to the lock (see photos ) and various other locations in the porch and the best I can get is medium strength, I even taped the gateway to the lock and that was medium so there is a serious issue with it, again in my opinion. It can take upto 1 minute to remote unlock so not really acceptable, some notifications that the lock has been unlocked can also take ages to come through even though I was expecting near realtime notifications. Anyway, we move along and the new front handle arrives to be fitted, I was busy so couldnt do it for a few days and when I got around to it dismantled it all, fitted it, bolted it all up and then noticed the connections were not compatable, gutted dont quite cover it. ( see photos ) Put the original one back and went onto whatsapp to explain, they was fine about it and sent a complete new lock this time, this had the right connection so I only used the front handle, fingerprint reading is much better on this one, the handle firmware is older than the one we had problems with so maybe something was added in that messed it up, who knows. After having it working now for some time I am happy to say that I am well pleased with the lock, very strong and well made, support is great. I would have no problem reccomending this lock. Cons: fiddly wire inside the battery compartment, gateway needs some serious upgrading, only 3 IC cards Pros: Great support, well made product, nice looking. I love it!! I am happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the lock and gateway, Terry

Great piece of technology
Product overview: I bought this smart lock in December 2024 for a new door installation in February 2025. The goal was convenience โ no more keys, easy access for family, and the ability to unlock remotely. Itโs aimed at anyone who likes smart home tech and wants flexible entry options. First impressions: Packaging was tidy and professional. The unit itself feels solid and well made โ not flimsy at all. I didnโt personally install it since we had a professional fitting the new door, but they didnโt report any issues and it seemed straightforward enough during installation. Performance: In day-to-day use it works really well. The fingerprint reader is fast most of the time, though occasionally it doesnโt recognise on the first try. That said, youโve got multiple fallback options: PIN codes, app access, and other unlock methods, which makes it very forgiving. One of the best features is remote access. Iโve unlocked the door while in Spain โ but you do need a bridge gateway connected to Wi-Fi for that. Mine cost about ยฃ15 and was worth it. The ability to add multiple fingerprints and codes makes it easy for all ages to use. The original batteries are still going strong months later, which is impressive. Pros: Multiple unlock methods (fingerprint, code, app) Remote access works well with gateway Easy for all ages to understand Long battery life Great for giving temporary access to guests/family Feels solid and secure Cons: Fingerprint reader occasionally misreads Remote features require buying a separate gateway Value for money: If you like smart tech and convenience, itโs absolutely worth it. It replaces keys, adds flexibility, and gives peace of mind. Considering the battery life and feature set, it feels like good value rather than a gimmick. Verdict: A genuinely useful smart lock that improves everyday convenience. Minor fingerprint hiccups donโt outweigh how practical and flexible it is. If youโre into smart home upgrades and want keyless access done properly, this is a great choice. Would buy again.

Nice Product And Fairly Easy To Install When You Know Howโฆ!
Ordered the Simpled SF-SPS in the silver finish, arrived promptly in well designed packaging. I have a UPVC front door with deadbolts, so was initially concerned would this lock work on my door, concerns allayed as no problems there. One thing to be aware of is the type of lock mechanism you have, on my door I have โoff set spindlesโ in the instructions leaflet that comes with the lock (on page 5) it states โNOT compatible with multi points that have offset spindlesโ and suggests that you contact their support team. (Maybe this should be clearer in the information description on Amazon). But I found that you can either purchase a new multi-lock unit uses a single spindle (costing about ยฃ30) or if you are competent DIY person you can still use the offset spindle lock, which involves a bit of drilling. I went for keeping my offset multi-lock as I wasnโt comfortable in removing the whole locking system from my door as well as knowing what size/make unit was installed in the door (a job that a locksmith would be needed for, costing a fair bit of money I guess, everyone to their own) As said I decided to run with the existing offset multi-lock, the only thing I needed to do was to ( I wonโt say butcher, as other reviews have said) โAdaptโ the door by opening up the hole where the top hole that takes the fixing screws & stub with a drill, this then allows both the cable and stub to pass through the door. Also to save putting strain on the cable I cut a slot between the hole the cable was going through and the hole where the second spindle originally went, this allowed the cable to sit snug and also allowed the whole outside handle unit to sit flush with the door. Overall, preparing and thinking how to fit the lock paid off, rather than steaming in and butchering the door, resulting in a much neater job. The whole process (not including the planning) took 33 minutes to fit and then about another 15 minutes setting up the different ways of unlocking/locking the door using the TTLock app, as recommended in the instruction leaflet, the app is very intuitive and easy to use. The reason I deleted one star was the fact that it was only mentioned about the โoffset spindlesโ in the introduction leaflet as opposed to point of sales, with a caveat saying you could still work with the offset spindle mechanism, BUT needed some confidence in opening up the hole for taking the cable and stub, something I mentioned to Simpled when I spoke to their support team. The lock is up and running, time will tell if the purchase I have made was good, but so far Iโm very pleased, a nice looking product, that looks good on my front door and the hassles of fining keys goneโฆ! Well done Simpledโฆ!

Failed after 2 weeks leaving our home insecure
Initial impressions were good. The lock "looked" of a good quality and robust in nature, however I was concerned about the quality of the housing on the reverse that accomodates the square handle shaft ad it looked to be made of a cheap, soft alloy and felt a loose fit and flimsy in nature. The lock fitted easily, within around 30 mins as I did need to enlarge the hole to accomodate the cable that connects the front housing to the internal handle. It was easy to set up as an administrator but I couldn't fathom how to allow access to the account for my wife to operate. I did contact customer support via WhatsApp who responded albeit slowly but then ceased responding after a couple of questions that I couldn't understand their explanation of, so I was left high and dry, still unable to resolve the dual administration access issue. The lock worked well.... when it worked. I set a schedule for a tiler to have access to our house for the 3 day duration that the job entailed, giving him access (using a pin no) from 7.30am until 4.30pm. He managed to gain access and secure our house upon leaving without any isdue. I noted from the log that he had attempted to gain access a couple of times prior to the programmed 7.30 on one morning, which was denied! So it worked well for the purpose intended We were thrilled, as it was working flawlessly, until. ... we exited our house as usual one evening to meet family and friends for a birthday celebrationmeal at a restaurant. We exited, closing the door as normal, confident that the door was locked automatically (as this is the default, which is the primary reason we purchased it ie. The door is always locked when closed). We always double check that it is locked to be on the safe side but discovered that the door wasn't locked at all. We tried many times opening and closing the door, locking it (so we thought) using our PIN codes, but despite the locks voice proclaiming ghat it was "LOCKED", it wasn't locked at all, just simply depress the handle and walk-in! It was now 7.30pm, we had been frantically faffing with the lock for 45 mins, unable to lock it. As we couldn't secure our home we had no alternative but to cancel our engagement, much to the disappointment of our family waiting at the restaurant. I couldnt do anything as it was dark and raining heavily. We were not going to call out a locksmith at that time of the night, so we had an anxious night sleeping with an insecure home, just a length of wood wedged under the handle attempting to secure our safety. Our evening if family celebration was ruined, a sleepless night ensued. The original keyed lock had to be refitted the following morning and the Simpled lock returned for refund. As we were left in such a vulnerable position by the failure of this lock leaving our home insecure within a short space of time, we will not risk fitting another one. I do not know what happened to cause the failure, it appears that the mechanism that disengages the handle from the latch had failed to do so, hence rendering the lock ineffective.

Best purchase for the house so far
One of the best purchases for the house I have made ever, this lock has been flawless since install over a year ago. Both my wife and I have EV electric cars so they are keyless this lock makes walking out the house even easier with zero keys jingling/rattling, You feel free. The lock has some great features built into it, like sending digital E keys, setting multiple custom passcodes for say if you have a cleaner they can have their own fingerprints or codes which only work on a specific day and time slot, this is all logged date and time also in an easy to read list which method was used date and time to open the lock. Installation was easy enough Iโm an engineer as trade I imagine the non DiY type would struggle. I purchased branded lithium AA batteries for ours upon installing and still have not changed them over a year layer the app is reporting 100% battery life still. I also have a backup simpled RFID sticker on my phone in case itโs raining the fingerprint reader doesnโt like reading in the rain. You can use the code but that takes 5/10 seconds to input where as the chip on my phone is instant. Build quality has been superb no issues and I plan to purchase and install another one for our back door as we use that frequently also. I would highly recommend purchasing the bridge also to open up remote unlocking and monitoring away from the house.

A Quality Smart-Door Lock with amazing ease of Install
As I have a number of smart devices installed in my home I decided it was time to 'bite the bullet' and install a 'SMART' front door lock. I have a friend who already has a smart lock installed on the main entry to his home (similar style, different brand) and he said it had been a nightmare to install and had to contact a door & glazing company to complete the install! Although I am quite elderly (70 y.o.), I am diy and smart home competent. so after reading and researching the vast range of devices both on amazon and elsewhere I chose the Simpled SF-SPS Smart Lock. The fact that the distributor and support is UK based sold it for me. The lock arrived with the usual Amazon rapidity and after removing the customary Amazon packaging I was surprised to see revealed the Simpled box - a very upmarket quality container, I was going to moan about the cost of this plush packaging, however on checking the contents it undoubtably did keep the lock and accessories very secure and shockproof within. On examining the lock kit it appeared an attractive, upmarket, very well made product with a well thought out and complete fitting kit. Batteries are included and are Duracell. I unpacked all the items and read the included manual which good infographics, was very well laid out and written, actually in English :). I would definitely advise viewing some of the You Tube videos prior to installing the lock to assist with the fitting etc. As the lock memory would save settings during battery change I decided, due to the inclement weather, to set up the smart lock on my kitchen table prior to installation i.e., I input my fingerprint and 2 of the NFC cards and a couple of passwords. I have also purchased the additional Wi-Fi bridge device to enable Alexa and remote control. The full process was well explained and amazingly easy, there were absolutely no hiccups or delays in any of the processes, in fact this is one of the easiest, most straightforward installs of any 'Smart Home' device. I even set up the Alexa 'Skill' for TTlock and it was also immediately recognised and operational. (The skill reassuringly requires a password to operate the Simpled lock). Today (17/12/23) was lock install day! I have an aluminium/pvc 4 panel double glazed glass front door with a multi point system and barrel lock, a typical modern door for the last 20 odd years, fortunately the replacement lock surround is the same dimensions as the old lock. I dismantled the lock exterior ironmongery and removed the barrel etc. and followed the instructions via the manual and knowledge gained from You Tube. I had one hole to drill in order to accommodate the securing screw of the new lock and that was that! 'Simpled Lock' fitted! I replaced the AA batteries checked with NFC card and my fingerprint - the door unlocked - I am amazed at how easy this was, it took 27minutes to exchange the door locks, but a word of caution, my door was an easy fit and although a typical door, we all know there is a myriad of differing door and lock styles - however with patience and reasonable DIY knowledge... Congratulations Simpled for an excellent product. P.S Not a complaint but there was no self adhesive NFC card to be found in the packaging, I appreciate this is one of those things but if you could forward one via post I would greatly appreciate the gesture. Thank you.

A great lock solution, especially for holiday let businesses
We've had this Slim Series Smart Lock installed for a few months in our holiday let. We were looking for a solution to using a physical key safe that would provide our guests with better security. We chose this lock as it has various entry modes - passcodes, eKeys, car fobs, fingerprint reader and remote. For guests, we simply generate timed codes for their arrival and departure dates. We also have the option of generating permanent codes, useful for housekeeping. For choice, guests can also use the card fobs provided in the house if they prefer to have something physical to use, which prove to be popular. For the family, we have a mixture of eKeys, fingerprints, fobs and code. The fingerprint reader largely works well but sometimes struggles to open first time. Installation was a bit fiddly on our new composite door and required quite a bit more than the instructions suggested to be cut out. The digits on the door lock are fairly dim and you can struggle to read the numbers in bright sunshine. The manufacturers are aware of this. We've had to have a replacement front panel as we weren't happy with the brightness of the keypad and the handle started to loosen. Simpled were quick to send us a replacement front panel (pictured), which is a lot tighter, but time will tell as to whether this will go the same way. To make it easier for guests, we've purchased the wireless keypad, to ease daytime entry especially. I particularly like the remote unlock option (available with the optional WiFi bridge) and have had to use it to unlock the door for guests in the past. The TTlock app works well and the records are useful, although I'd like to see it log when the door is locked rather than just when it's unlocked. Overall, impressed with the lock but time will tell whether it's durable for commercial use.

Great Lock, Awful Setup
I bought this lock based on it's technical specs and reviews of the hardware itself. These held up to be true and it has the features I wanted and works as expected. I had to review it though to make people aware of the absolutely atrocious installation process. The manual provided does not in anyway provide any useful information on HOW TO INSTALL THIS PHYSICALLY. The post physical install instructions are fine, i.e., download app, pair with app. But the installation of the hardware is made infinitely more time consuming and painful due to them providing multiple variations of the same part (presumably to accommodate various door sizes). There are no instructions on which pieces go where on the lock itself nor any information regarding the possible pieces you may need from the set. Literally about 8-10 single screws of different lengths and 2 different cylinder things and 2 different spindles. If you watch their installation video on their official youtube, even that is atrocious, it just skips over important parts and just assumes the parts they are using will work for your door. I had to watch other youtube videos made by reviewers to actually figure it out and ultimately, all you can do is install the lock and then uninstall it until you find a configuration that works for your door. I had to do this about 7 times, testing both cylinders, both spindles and trying all screws with both cylinders until it screwed in tight. The cylinder screw bits are also designed really badly due the fact that you will end up having to unscrew the lock to change the bits until you find your fit. This frequently causes the cylinder screw to come undone and therefore requiring you to take off both sides on a re-install to test. All they had to do was give you accurate measurements of each of these parts and perhaps some insight as to what parts are generally good to start with or work a certain depth of door etc. Instead they just say stuff like "after installing the spindle". No "how to install it", "which one you need to install" or "DO NOT LOCK THE SPINDLE PIN UNTIL YOU KNOW WHICH SPINDLE IS RIGHT FOR YOUR DOOR". Horrendous install process. Didn't require any modification to our multipoint door however which was a plus.
