Yes it took a couple of tries to insert the mount into the tiny vent slats but that’s because if you go too far to the right (ie closer to the left of the infotainment screen), the hooks will bottom out. Just if that’s happening, just move the mount left and retry until the little J hooks go all the way under the slats. Then slide to the right and lock in place. Simple. Once on, the magnet mount is very strong. I have a protective case on my phone with a built in piece of metal. So i didn’t use the included metal piece. The magnet is so strong that i can swivel the phone from portrait to landscape without swinging the mount arm down. My phone case is literally swiveling in place but being held in place with the magnet. Very happy with this product as it allows me to watch videos while driving 😈With it installed as far right as possible, and I have an iPhone 13 Pro, when in landscape, the phone sits just to the right of the steering wheel in pretty much full view. Maybe a tiny bit of the left corner of the phone is obstructed by the steering wheel but not a deal breaker

5 star🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Good quality, stays firm & doesn’t rattle when it’s bumpy. Many usable angle 📐 I particularly looked for a MagSafe mount without charging ability, because using MagSafe charging all day long would make the phone very warm to a point the photo library won’t sync.

Never had a problem with it being secured. My cases mag safe is strong so what’s annoying sometime is when I pull off leaving the car, the phone it changes the orientation of the mount. The mount itself to the vent doesn’t move. Not all vent slots can be used to mount. If it’s not secured just move it over one. I like this as I mount it on the left side of the steering wheel, and it’s not in my face like the other mounts for the Teslas.

Perfect for Apple case magnetic backing. Looks great, 3 mins to install, no wires, stays in place. Magnet strength is almost too strong. When you remove the phone it works best to use two hands to twist up and rotate. I have it centered behind steering wheel of my MY and it works great.
