My granddaughter loved creating her own bedroom 'night-light'. It absolutely was fun watching her doing this craft! Looks great and a nice low key lighting option.

The end product is very nice but this is definitely not an activity for kids under 10! It’s very messy and the instructions are not clear. Once the string is wrapped around the balloon, the balloon needs to be placed in a well-ventilated area for up to 2 days. The instructions say less but it took much longer for ours to dry. The finished product is cute but even a 10-year-old will need adult help. Also note: have child-size rubber gloves on hand before you start. The ones included in the kit are way too big for kids. I would give this fewer stars for all of the mess and confusion but the results are good.

These are a bit messy so I would suggest doing them on a covered surface. but the kids loved them

This kit is a win. It’s easy to follow, keeps kids busy, and the finished string art looks way cooler than you’d expect. The light-up feature makes it pop and feel like a real display piece, not just a one-and-done craft. Great gift, great rainy-day activity, and the results are seriously impressive.

I would give it three and a half stars. I purchased it for my nine-year-old, who made two of the three projects, and lost some interest winding the strands. It's a LOT of gooey, sticky yarn to wrap around mylar balloons. The star did not work well, as trying to pull the popped balloon out of the dried yarn didn't work well. We also made the moon which partially collapsed but held up better during the balloon-removal process. The string of led lights was pretty. The lights have a blink function, so if you have very young children or epilepsy prone, that wouldn't be a good choice. The idea is good, but the end results were not as good as we hoped.

The box is small but don't let that throw you off- this is a great kit to keep your art-loving child entertained. Everything arrived as pictured in the box. Makes for a great gift. The designs are adorable and the tools provided were functional. But the best part is that it introduces kids to a new style of art. My friend's daughter said she loved her gift and had asked to go to the store and get new balloon styles/yarn/lights to make even more designs. Which is amazing because most of the supplies can be found at discount stores.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for our 9 year old granddaughter. The box has full, easy to follow instructions and everything you need to make the balloon light kit. I did the first one with my granddaughter we had great fun together doing it ... she blew the balloon up with the supplied straw and I helped to tie the end, then she soaked the ball of string in a bowl with the glue and water mixture; then she had great fun wrapping the string around the balloon ... we carefully hanged the wet stringed balloon up overnight to dry and sure enough the next day the string had set solid. We punctured the balloon to let the air out and carefully pulled the deflated balloon out. My granddaughter threaded the tiny lights inside and decorated the tassle at the bottom. This is a really sweet balloon light when it's finished and the tiny multi-coloured lights are delightful! There are 3 different balloon lights to make in total and for the money I think it is extremely good value - happy to recommend to anyone wanting a lovely gift for a young girl who likes crafting and pretty things!
