Simple and efficient
I have zero complaints about this product. I have been using in my water pitcher for years and have had any issues. Our water tastes great! I replace every couple of months!

Only get the original filters.
I tried the Glacier Fresh or whatever they were called and that was a mistake. Nasty taste and did not filter well. Only buy the original PUR PLUS filters.

Definitely improves water taste...
...but does it work? I can only hope. I know that other water filter systems purportedly filter out more chemicals and metals, but they all seem to have their own downsides (slow filtering, expensive filters that require more frequent replacing, etc.), so I just have to go with what works for my budget and hope for the best. I live near a busy road, so there's no escaping dangerous particulate matter in the air I breathe, so I guess filtering my drinking water is about equal to offering somebody a single band-aid when they're suffering from a hundred cuts. But we do what we can, and these PUR filters definitely make our water taste crisp and clean. For the rest of life's inescapable dangers, head firmly in sand!

Arrived wet but it works. Short lifespan.
Arrived with product box demolished but the inner plastic packaging was still sealed. Some of the carbon had spilled out and made a mess and the cartridge was dripping wet. First time I’d ever gotten a wet one. I called Pur and they said this is a byproduct of the manufacturing process and not to worry, it was packaged wet. Suspicious, I gave it a try. It works just fine. The filtered water is a little smoother and a little cleaner tasting and absent that slight metallic aftertaste of the regular filter. I like it more than the Pur regular or the Britta standard filter with Atlanta city water. Our city water supply starts out relatively clean and is not the least bit challenging for a carbon filter. If you live in a place with poor water quality this is not going to help very much. On contaminates like iron, sulfur and minerals it has no effect. Pur also lost their lead certification for this filter and the new packaging no longer makes that claim but for removing chlorine and sediments it works great. Pretty good flow rate as well. When it’s new it filters at about the rate of 80 ounces an hour, (casual observation not a careful measurement). I use 80 ounces a day and it lasts 2 months, (37 gallons). At the end of 2 months it’s still removing chlorine but the water doesn’t taste good anymore. This is the new version of the Pur Plus pitcher filter. The old version had the “Removes Lead” claim on the front and is no longer available. Update. 2/3/25. Their certification to remove lead was reinstated and the claim is posted on the outside of packaging again.

Amazing filter
I have used many filter brands throughout the last five years, however PUR has stuck with me. I appreciate the availability to purchase a single filter, as sometimes financially investing $35-$40 on a 3 pack can be awful for some individuals. It’s a great product, and the filter has a pitcher full of water ready in less than one hour. I will note that I do leave my PUR pitcher outside of the fridge as I’ve noticed the cold temperature can make the filter work slower.

Pur water filter
Works as expected. I tried the "no name brand" and it took forever for the water to filter through and didn't last as long. I only buy the Pur brand now.

Essential!
Our household won’t drink the water without it being filtered through the Pur filter system. Great quality, excellent performance and lasts a decent amount of time. Plus, it’s a great value especially when your household’s wellbeing depends on it!
