Good DIY brad nailer for home use
This is a good, handy tool to have on hand around the house.I purchased this to redo our house trim. I decided to use the smaller 18 gauge version for smaller nail holes. It is easy to use. After one to two weeks of light use the battery needs to be charged. Not bad.I have used several different brands of brad nails so far including Porter and DeWalt. All have worked without a problem. It operates without much noise. You can attempt to set how deep the nail is driven in two ways. You can adjust the power. There is also a depth setting that is supposed to be a more granular setting.I have three minor-ish complaints so far:1. It doesn't always fire a nail once I push it forward and pull the trigger. When this happens, pulling the gun back, pushing it forward again and then pulling the trigger usually addresses this. It does this enough that I wonder if there is something wrong with the gun.2. The nail depth is not consistent. Using the same nail size and same board sometimes results in a nail that is sticking out slightly. I usually have to counter sink a 1 to 3 nails for every 12 to 16 foot piece of trim I nail in.3. It sometimes dents the wood even if with the front bumper. I can usually avoid this by pushing lightly but even then it still sometimes dents the surface of the hardwood surface (poplar in this case). For DIY use around the house, this has been reasonably inexpensive, good tool so far. If I was a professional, I would look for something with more consistent and reliable performance.

Love this nail gun
I have been going crazy with DIY projects since I got this nail gun. Installed new treads and risers on my stairs and new trim, and built cabinets. No issues with battery life and it is not super heavy. Functions great.

Works OK. Would buy it again. Beware Ryobi.
I ordered this because I got tired of nailing molding on the walls. My son had one of these and it worked okay for him The only things that bother me about it are that it tends to dry-fire after you get down below 10 nails, and there's no obvious OFF safety switch.I really want to make a point about customer service, though. The charger that came with it did not work. Trying to do the right thing I called the Ryobi "customer service" number in the manual. IT'S NOTHING BUT UNINTELLIGENT CHAT BOTS. I found myself in circular handoff, with no chance to talk to anyone. I can only conclude RYOBI CARES NOTHING ABOUT CUSTOMERS. Ship it and collect the money!Getting no help from the manufacturer, and seeing that the shipment actually came from Midwest Tool Company, I reached out to them. THEY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER! I emailed them about my problem. Within a couple days I had a replacement charger, WITH NO HASSLES AND NO INFURIATING CHAT BOTS.MIDWEST TOOL is a trustworthy, class act.
