Momo [Ende, Michael] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Momo Review: Multi generational book that everyone should read! - I absolutely love this book. This is a multi generational story. My 3rd grade teacher read this to our class. I don't think there is a kid that had her class over the years that doesn't remember this book but by a different name The Grey Gentleman. This is a easier reading version of that book but the story is the same. I bought this so I could read to my kids and was so surprised that the innocent child in me remembered the story one way, however reading it as an adult has a whole different meaning. It makes you think. In my opinion this should be required reading in school. It's right up there with The Giver or even the The Giving Tree. A book with a message. You won't be disappointed. This was originally written in German by the same author as The Never Ending Story. It's been translated into Spanish. But trying to to find an English version hasn't been an easy find, so I was elated when my sister found it here and bought it to read to her son. Then I bought it to read to my children. Review: A meaningful book for our times - I love this book, which is targeted at YA but belongs to all of us. Michael Ende is a brilliant storyteller. I cannot believe that Momo is not printed in the US, and that it is not made into a film! It is an incredibly sensitive and exciting story, about the human spirit in the face of oppression.

Easy and joyful read.
Momo was a joy to read. I don’t think it’s only written for children, many adults will surely enjoy this book as well. I was completely hooked after reading the first four chapters and couldn't stop. I ended up reading the entire book in one day. That’s how engaging the story is. It has great storytelling and memorable characters. The message of the book is relatable and moved me on a deeper level. I will definitely keep this book in my library in case life gets too busy. It serves as a reminder that you are never too busy to enjoy life, and that it’s never a waste of time to do things that you love. There is much more to this existence beyond the everyday hustle and bustle.

My kids loved it so much
I bought this book because my mom red it for my brother and me when we were kids, and I am glad I did, my kids absolutely loved it, they where asking every night for it and even though it doesn’t have pictures, they really enjoyed it, they are 8 and 11, and both loved the story, I even got some big hugs thanking me for spending time with them, (thank you evil men in grey, haha) such a bonus!, and now is one of the favorites books.

A Man In Grey
After glancing at some information about this book online, I still had no idea what it was about, so I decided to read it. You might think it's about a homeless girl or a turtle or something upon seeing it at first, but it's really about a paradoxical idea that the more time you try to save, the more of it you will waste. It has what some would call a regressive message no doubt, and it's a message I somewhat agree with. I particuarly like how you don't really get a good grasp of the plot until you're well past the halfway point of the book, and with the exception of the "Make-Believe" digression chapter, you want to read on to figure out where the story's going. It's good at leaving you in the dark just enough to keep you reading, no matter how much someone tells you about the book beforehand. While not quite as imaginative as The Neverending Story, Momo is just as well-written, and just as philosophical. The characters Beppo and Guido are developed very well, but Professor Hora reminds me of Father New Year from Ende's "Night of Wishes," which has some mediocrity to it. The men in grey villians are wonderful. I had such vivid visuals of their behavior throughout the book, particuarly their evil selling pitch on the benefits of "saving" time and their mad scramble at the end for anything that might give them life. Sometimes I feel like a man in grey, keeping busier than I should to save something I really can't save. What can I do but ask for forgiveness?

Amazing Book
I had to buy this book for a course I was taking and it’s such a lovely story with a good message. If you’re a fan of “The Neverending Story”, I bet you’ll love “Momo” as well. The book came in great condition and the seller was incredibly helpful with an issue with the tracking number I was provided.

Love this book
Absolutely love this story. A friend from Germany bought this for me when I was a teenager and said it's a classic children's book there. It's really beautiful and has stayed with me through the years. I bought it for my nephew for Christmas - my sister was thrilled because she remembered the story fondly as well, and said she's glad her kids now have a chance to enjoy it. Very pleased with this purchase.

Momo is a great story and has been a family favorite even though it is virtually impossible to buy in the USA (so I get it in Europe). The story is about a young girl, which is great, as heroines can be hard to find. Ende's fantasies are beautiful. It is a simpler and shorter book than his more famous The Neverending Story, and more manageable for younger readers. Enjoy!
