How long do you keep them for and how do you dispose? Surely you can't keep them in the same water forever?

We haven't changed the water but just topped up as it evaporated. As long as you don't overfeed the water seems to stay clear and doesn't smell. We still have ours six months later. They are living creatures, so shouldn't be "disposed" of but CARED for.

the water is quite cloudy, what should I do

Don't feed them for a few days until it clears.

How soon do you have to start them once you have received them. Have just got mine and wanted to give to my dsughter for her birthday in March?

I think that will be fine as they are dormant when dry.

How long do they live for?

A few months if they're healthy
