I compared many different versions offered on Amazon. I picked this mat because what would it hurt at the price point? The mat arrived, and I removed it from the box. I placed it outside in the sunlight to remove the bend due to being boxed. It is now perfectly flat and does well on any smooth floor or low-pile rug. The thinner version may not be good for mid to high-pile carpets. The feedback is great, the sequins are staying put, and it is oddly satisfying to smooth back after a swing. Therapeutic and good for your game!

I tend to release my downswing too early, and consequently, top the ball or chunk it. This training mat has helped me to keep my left wrist cocked until I’m more on top of the ball. The mat shows clearly if I’ve hit a solid shot straight ahead or if I hit the ground before the ball, or hit it to the left or the right. Also, I put the mat right next to my 5’ x 5‘ golfing mat, so as I stand on my golfing mat, I am level with the surface of this training mat. The price is really reasonable, I recommend this to everybody! It will certainly make me a better golfer…

I have the more famous "Divot Board" which utilizes the same concept for $139.99, a price which is unconscionable. I purchased this for less than half the price and like it better. It's bigger and more sturdy. The concept of being able to hit the golf ball first and take a divot second is the Cardinal Rule in golf; nothing else really matters until you have mastered this. And this product allows you to do it indoors without a ball. If you are serious about improving your golf swing you may be shocked (and if you're like me, frustrated) at where you're making contact with the ball using this product. This thing is worth hundreds of dollars in lessons, and yes I have bought a ton of "swing aids" that do little.

This mat provides great feedback on your swing path and whether or not you are striking the ground before the ball. It also protects your lawn from divots, but it will kill your grass if you leave it in one place for too long. I primarily use it indoors on top of a rug, but you can simulate a decent lie anywhere with this thing. I wouldn't recommend hitting this mat off of concrete because there isn't much padding underneath. I've had it for a few months now, and it's held up pretty well.

This mat is well worth it. Easy way to practice your golf swing indoors/outdoors and get feedback. The mat does a solid job of staying in place and the material hasn't worn off at all yet, even with full speed swings. The foam golf balls that come with it are a nice touch if you want to replicate the visual of hitting at a ball.

I tried the Golf Mat and thought it provided excellent feedback on my irons. My swing path is good but my ground contact has suffered when using my long irons (4-5-6). The golf mat showed that I'm hitting the ground first! Now I'm aiming a little forward of the ball and along with a more forward shaft lean, I'm making better contact A great and inexpensive swing aid for this crazy game! Thank you!

I coach high school golf and have wanted to try these mats out for a long time with our players to show them contact & swing path and finally tried this one out with the thick bottom. I have not been disappointed and neither have the kids --- they love the instant feedback on their swing. Product is very stout and firm and I expect it to last many seasons.

This is a must have for beginners and those (like me) returning to the game after a bunch of years away. With my irons I can instantly identify where my club face is striking the ball, where the divot is, the path your club is taking and probaly more. I've hit mostly practice ball, but also real golf balls. Probably 400 shots & it's holding up better than expected. Just get it.
