Been Carnivore for a year
I ordered this book while on a carnivore journey. I am pretty impressed with the content; I went to Carnivore after experiencing a debilitating illness due to the toxicity of organic acids in plants, fruits and vegetables. I was left without any energy, brain fog and nearly bedridden; when I changed to carnivore, I found there was no guidebook to go this path. Immediately, I experienced for the first time a boost of energy I had not had in 30 years eating the prescribed SAD way. When I got the book, it confirmed my findings. It assisted with building a meal plan that has only increased my energy, allowed great digestion, reduced my weight, eliminated the need for statins and vitamins, and, all around, restored my health. I can't stress this book enough as a great help.

My favorite book on the topic.
I have just finished reading the book and I am happy to share some of the takeaways. Before I even start, I wanted to say that, even though I have read about 10 books on the carnivore and animal-based diets during these last 5 years, this book here—from Judy Cho—would be the one book I would recommend if I could pick only one.I will divide this review into 2 parts. First I will share some of the highlights I enjoyed the most about this book. Last, I will share how my diet lifestyle has evolved through the years.HIGHLIGHTS1) The language is extremely accessible. I appreciate the simplicity and clarity of Judy's words. It doesn't matter if you don't have any formal science background, I promise you will understand even the minor details.2) There are dozens of valuable charts/graphs/figures that help us better understand the information. Also, the quality of the paper itself is another aspect that got my attention. It isn't made of coated paper we often find it in books that contain figures/photos. Instead, it's made of uncoated smooth paper.3) Judy includes the most updated and pertinent studies published during the last 1-3 years.4) The only book that addresses social aspects such as community support, attending social events, and mealtime conversations while on a carnivore diet (Chapter 12: Socializing with the Carnivore Diet).5) It includes further lifestyle adjustments we should take into consideration beyond the diet (Chapter 13: Lifestyle Factors).6) A full chapter of useful information concerning the transition time while embracing the carnivore diet. It clarifies many of the doubts and includes troubleshooting information for each of the aspects (Chapter 10: Transitioning to a Carnivore Diet).7) Even though the carnivore diet can be positively experienced by consuming only beef steaks, salt, and fresh water, I appreciate the effort Judy puts into recommending the inclusion of a variety of animal food sources into our diets. She does that genuinely and holistically by dedicating a full chapter to this topic (Chapter 11: Eat the Carnivore Rainbow).8) While this book can be easily used as a reference book after reading it, all the others I have read—which are precious as well—are more into the narrative side of the carnivore diet.MY DIET LIFESTYLE JOURNEYI became intrigued by the role of nutrition in overall health and physical performance when I was 17. Now, in my mid-30s, it’s humbling to say I've navigated through different approaches during these years. In the beginning, my focus was to prioritize natural ingredients low in sugar. In college I became vegetarian. During those 2 years of vegetarianism, I was vegan for 6 months. I ended up acknowledging that vegetarianism wasn’t doing well for my overall health. So I reintroduced meat-based foods slowly, trying to become a conscious omnivorous. In late 2013, I was hooked when I read The Paleo Solution, by Robb Wolf. From then on, I started following Robb Wolf and Mark Sisson’s suggestions, and have refined my approach from figures such as Dr. Hyman, Dr. Mercola, and Dr. Perlmutter. A considerable adjustment happened in early 2018 when I was introduced to Dr. Gundry’s program. He encourages us to avoid foods high in lectin. Upon adopting it, I felt even better—my skin looked brighter and my digestion worked smoother. That all said, I became intrigued in 2018-19 upon hearing Dr. Shawn Baker and Dr. Paul Saladino’s arguments in favor of a whole food animal-based diet—the carnivore diet. Since then, I have done a handful 3-month full carnivore experiments. However, the diet lifestyle that has brought me the most joy, energy and wellbeing during these last 4-5 years is what I call the primal diet. It's basically the carnivore diet (including raw milk, some organ meats, honey, bone broth, and natural eggs) plus a handful of different types of fruits. As a side note, if you decide to eat eggs, please get the best eggs you can find—from truly soy and corn-free-fed chickens.

Décevant
Pour une introduction à l'alimentation carnivore il y a sûrement mieux.Pas assez détaillé sur la plan scientifique et même pour le commun des mortels...
