If you already have many security devices, this probably isn't for you.
I bought this security hub in the hopes it would fix my frustrations with Samsung's lack of security products for the smarthings system. Long story short you cannot buy a keypad that will work out of the box with smartthings except for the one that comes on this hub. This ADT Smarthings hub is a z-wave hub so if you already have an existing smarthings hub and want to monitor devices from this new ADT hub you will need to exclude them from your original smartthings hub and connect them to this one. However, I really wouldn't bother doing that because at the end of the day this hub will ONLY monitor ADT approved accessories and that turns out to be a small list of available devices. If you want to monitor Aeotec recessed door sensors, a garage door tilt sensor, or an existing motion sensor with a light and temperature sensor as well you're out of luck. The kit does come with 2 door/window contacts and a motion detector plus the obvious hub. An important point the motion detector is very sensitive. Pets will set it off and there does not appear to be a way to adjust it. Considering my older $35 motion detector does not have that problem I'm going to have to give ADT grief about that. Anyway I decided to return it because the monitoring fee plus the fact that the panel only monitors ADT z-wave devices makes this a waste of money as I would have to throw out too many devices to make this worth it. Plus the monitoring fee is a high when compared with Ring or Simplisafe. An additional note the cellular backup can only be used when you have signed up for the monitoring service. If you are just planning to monitor yourself you will need to rely on your home wifi connection. This product really could have checked all the boxes. The interface functions smoothly. It operates just like a typical security panel and it does have capability to connect to most z-wave devices. It also has the cellular backup which I mentioned above. However the fact that they decided to make this hub only directly monitor ADT devices plus the fact that the cellular is disabled without paying for monitoring ruins this for me. In case I wasn't clear above when I connect my existing motion detectors and recessed door sensors to the ADT hub they connect just fine. However the hub says there are no security devices connected. The reason this is a problem is it will not let me set the panel to Stay/Away modes because it does not see any sensors to monitor.TL;DR: If you don't have any/many existing security devices and are okay with using ONLY ADT devices for security monitoring, plus are okay with a $30/mo monitoring bill then this system is for you. If none of that sounds great to you well then you should look elsewhere.

Pairing could be better SET TIMEZONE FIRST
I overall like this as a smart things hub quite a bit. I'm transitioning from Wink to SmartThings due to winks development being stagnant for the last few years in terms of integrating with other brands. I did some research and discovered that SmartThings supports a far more programmable mechanism for their Smart Home platform via a web based IDE. I also noticed there is quite the active community on the public SmartThings forum with device tutorials for the devices that didn't have native support. I have 19 different SmartThings Devices and of those 19, 11 had native support within the stock SmartThings app. This ADT kit and smoke detector, co monitor and leak sensor bundle ended up replacing 3 of the Wink devices and doubles as a actual home security system. I was able to retire 2 Wink devices due to unseeded redundancy of sirens and motion sensors thanks to the kit. The one thing that had native support through the Lutron Caestra Smart Bridge whereas the Wink Hub could pair with it directly. Adding this equipment however made two of those dimmer switches HomeKit enabled which is rather nice and we have an extra dimmer switch for somewhere else and Lowe's had it at the same price roughly as buying two cross platform dimmer switches that spoke Z-wave and didn't need electrical work. The Alexa and IFTTT integration is by far the best I've seen which is nice. Unlike Wink IFTTT can see each device not just the shortcuts.I had to use non native community solutions in association with the web based IDE for my flic buttons, MyQ Garage door, and Sadly for Blink ( who recently dropped SmartThings support over some security fiasco), WyzeCams ( for cameras it basically just turns them into motion detectors except my Arlo Cameras) Also ADT will send you a text message even without monitoring as long as you have internet which I keep our network backed up for the most part with Battery Backup. If I'm ever in need of redundant monitoring seeing as I use Simplisafe as my primary alarm system I'm glad to know that this hub/panel has built in battery and cellular backup. The sensors I'm using don't have to transmit far at all. The farthest away one is 12 feet and it has some electronics and is on a metal window seal so it is probably subject to unnecessary RF interference which could have contributed to it going out of supervision which translates to loss of communication. I reset the battery and repaired it and it's been fine since so possible other issue but the fact that it was so close and still didn't see it is concerning. To set the timezone which needs to be done before pairing devices or else you will have to reset them by following the troubleshooting guide in the setup guides please use the classic SmartThings app and edit your homes location to a different time zone region so if your in Florida set it to somewhere in California and then set it to the proper location. This will cause the time to reflect the correct time on the panel almost immediately from there you can pair your ADT SmartThings Devices. From my experience pairing the ADT devices was much more troublesome than other smart home devices. I would recommend resetting them first using the troubleshooting guide first and then be sure to scan the barcode and if it doesn't register quickly be sure it has power right before you scan the barcode unlike what the sticker stated. I also ended up having to force quick the SmartThings app several times and even had to move on to the next device occasionally to get them paired.Note: there is not a range extender for this ADT SmartThings devices that I could find online. So your limited to a maximum radius from the panel of 350ft so certain house shapes would not benefit from that type of restriction.Lastly the dang lights around the buttons are super annoying at night for someone who prefers complete darkness for sleep. Oh well I can get used to it.One other note is the timeout for entering the pin is rather short <=30s and the panel has no where near the level of customization my SimpliSafe system has which is kind of depressing.Still it's a good first step at bringing all of my smart home devices under one app and system. I think this transition will be nice going forward and I truest believe SmartThings is a more comprehensive system for the smart home as opposed to Wink. Although Winks app does look so much better haha. As for a security system this largely is fine for small homes but anything bigger with more wireless devices could be prone to communication issues. I think unless you want an extra few sensors the normal SmartThings hub 3 is sufficient for most use cases and would probably save you most of the headaches that this can have during setup. I'll update if it gets worse but first impressions are is a good system not great but good.
