This is much better than the big clunky thing my mom used for confectioners sugar. Takes up less space and the plastic cap allows you to store powdered sugar in it until the next time you use it. It also allows for better control over where you sprinkle compared to the big flour sifter type of gizmos. I recently made patterns on top of a cake using a slotted spoon as a stencil. My one criticism: the way the screen lid screws onto the canister could be improved. I've unscrewed it while pulling off the plastic lid. Overall, I'll give it 5 stars because the design flaw isn't hard to work around.

I live in an old farmhouse, and I relocated a 100-year-old flower bed of peonies to an area beside the front porch. Anyone ever wonder why these beautiful flowers are seen far away from the house? Short answer, ants. Peonies flowers can't open without the help of ants eating the seams open. Therefore, my house is bombarded with ants this time of year after the flowers have died off. I have to keep EVERYTHING in containers and keep fresh ground cinnamon sprinkled in various areas because ants won't walk through cinnamon. This little stainless still shaker is the best of both worlds for my purposes. Its quality made and I love that it has a lid. With it holding 6 oz, it's the perfect size to sprinkle cinnamon, or powdered sugar over my baked goods. I wash it by hand and dry it immediately, so it doesn't have a chance to sit or rust. I've never had a problem with my stainless-steel rusting because I handle each piece the same. It's quite versatile in that you can use it for just about any ground herb or spice, making it a great value. I bought two more that's more suitable for salt. This has a fine mesh that I don't think would make a good saltshaker but makes it quite functional for so many other types of spice. This version was sold as a powder sugar shaker instead of a saltshaker. The other version has holes specifically for salt. If you're looking for powder sugar shaker, or make your own cinnamon sugar, I highly recommend this product. If you're looking for a salt shaker, I would look for one with holes instead of mesh. I believe it would last longer.

If you’re like me, you’re reading these reviews, seeing all the problems people have mentioned with the caps and are hesitant yo buy something just to return it. I decided to give it a shot because when the dredge worked properly people seemed to love it. And then I received my shaker and the shaker and like many others when I went to screw off the plastic, the mesh came with it. I was starting to get very annoyed when I noticed something. The plastic cap has no ridges, it’s meant to pop off. And the steel top is meant to screw on and off. And once I realized I could just pop the plastic cap off, it’s been smooth sailing. I’m no longer taking the top off with the cap. Since the top is secured separately when I remove the cap there’s no issue with the top becoming loose. The thing shakes like a dream. The hole sizes are exactly as pictured/what I wanted, I haven’t had any clogs and it at times can work through some sizable clumps in cocoa powder. It’s allowed for an easy even spread on my baked goods and desserts, even when it’s less than half full. And the plastic cap is a snug fit so I feel confident its ability to keep moisture out. I’ve had no issue with the stainless steel, having thoroughly washed these before filling. Hopefully it stays that way. It’s not a high enough grade/quality for salt for I’m keeping to powdered ingredients. Pleasantly surprised on this purchase that I took a chance on. Again so far, the only issue I’ve run into was the mesh top and plastic cap, and once I realized one was a pop off and the other was screwed on, it hasn’t been an issue since.

Smaller than expected. Not as sturdy as and Half the size of the one it’s replacing. Appreciated the covers. Liked the pack of 2. Decent price.

These are nice little containers. They are pretty thick and durable stainless steel. The plastic lid snaps off and the shaker lid screws off. The only problem I saw was that there was black film on the inside. You will definitely want to wash really well before you use it.

Nicely made and comes with a secure plastic cover. I really like the small profile. It fits nicely in my spice cupboard.

I bought this powdered sugar shaker for plain powdered sugar. I use it a lot at the same time and sugar tends to get clumped around the ring. The sieve is hard to screw on, if you just put the clear cap on it is very loose, but when you push it down until it clicks it gets stuck so tight, pulling it off traps the sieve and makes it difficult to take apart. I have also had the sieve just pop off, dumping sugar on the funnel cake. Other than those problems it is not to hard to shake or clean. because it is metal it gets clean very easily. If you screw on the sieve properly and close the top I have not had the powdered sugar get wet.

Very cute and good quality. I haven't had the issues with the lid that other reviews mentioned. I use them for rice flour and powdered sugar.

Bought a two pack: one for dusting icing sugar and the other for my homemade dry shampoo powder. Works well and the screen in top prevents clumping when distributing the product. Works amazingly well for my dry shampoo powder application. Only negative is that the plastic covers can be a bugger to take off.

Love this, seems sturdy with large capacity with a good soft lid that won't break if dropped like another high end brand (smaller too) I have had taped up for years. Just dont push lid on hard or it will get stuck, need to be pried off with a knife. Screen is just right fineness for a finer sugar like berry sugar.
