A marked improvement on my turntable’ built in preamp.
The media could not be loaded. The unit seems to be well made. The Valves were unbranded but seem to work well and were easy to install (I might try some upgrades at some point but don’t think it is necessarily going to make much difference). I am using it as a preamp for a Sony PS-LX310BT which I am running through some Edifier active speakers in my home office (one of the perks of working from home). The improvement to the sound was marked and the volume and tone controls work well (I am using the bass and treble controls as the primary tone controls and leaving the Edifier tone controls as neutral). I have found that the volume is best set fairly high on the Box X3 to get the full effect of the valves and the Edifier volume control used as the primary. The valves give a warm sound characteristic but not at the expense of clarity. The overall sound is very clear. Great value for money at £72. Can’t speak for its longevity as I have only had it a couple of days but would say that I am very impressed so far.

Very good amp for the price nice warm sound separation not as good as higher end offerings but you get what you pay for

Worked well at first, then not so much
Was looking forward to receiving this due to how abysmal the built in phono stage on my amp is. However sadly, it crackles on one channel. So it will definitely be going back
