A beautiful edition
This book contains some of John’s greatest compositions and will delight any fan so long as they can read standard notation. There is no tab but there is a demonstration CD with the pieces played on the nylon-string guitar by Marco Rossetti. It may seem odd to perform John’s pieces this way but he once told me that he mainly played nylon-string guitars at home although he chose not to perform with them. This package seems to have been designed to introduce John’s music to classical guitarists but it’s a beautifully produced edition that I would recommend to anyone who can read standard notation.

Great stuff!
I'm been a devotee of Renbourn's music for many years and for me this was always going to be a 'must have'. It's a scholarly edition and the result of many years of painstaking work by the editor so definitely recommended for anyone wishing to have a go at some or all of these pieces. There is no tab which may upset the acoustic players but otherwise this comes highly recommended.

Excellent - well annotated score (so the fact that there is no tab is less of an issue for those that normally would require it)..It might be worth noting that these pieces have been revised and edited in close collaboration with John Renbourn for "the most appropriate and effective way to perform the pieces with the classical guitar" - after comparing versions available and recordingsThe CD included is by Marco Rossetti on classical guitar and of high standard - but it's clearly not John playing!
