Kavella Clarifying Shampoo (32 oz)

I did not know what clarifying shampoo was and had to look it up. Clarifying shampoo is meant to remove build up in the hair and should only be used maybe once a week as a "reset" for your hair. It's not meant to be moisturizing or smoothing. This shampoo has a clear color and thick texture so you don't need a lot of cover the entire hair. It has a light fresh scent so it's very refreshing to smell. It really does a good job at cleaning the hair and scalp. Since I don't use a lot of hair spray products, I can get away with using this shampoo less frequently to maybe once every 2 week or once a month. My hair feels healthier and stronger as it can absorb the benefits of other shampoo better. It was an interesting product to try out and I'm glad to have known about it.

This clarifying shampoo comes in a metal bottle, making it difficult to dispense. It does not squeeze, or have a pump, so you just have to tap and shake it to try to get the shampoo out. In addition to that, I can see this bottle rusting due to the materials used, and the fact that it will be in a high moisture environment for a long time with infrequent use. I wouldn’t recommend using it more than once a week, because you can definitely tell that it’s stripping your hair- it leaves my hair feeling extremely dried out and coarse. Make sure you follow it with a really good conditioning treatment!

First of all the shampoo arrived packaged well to avoid any possible leaks. The screw off cap had tape around it and the top of the bottle under the cap had a cover that you had to peel off the bottle before using. The shampoo has an odd scent, not great, but not bad either. I didn’t notice the scent after using. I have very thick, dry, corse hair and only wash my hair every 3-4 days. This shampoo worked great and lathered very well. The directions say to use every 1-2 weeks. However since I do not shampoo frequently, I would use less often. I still used my conditioner and nourishing cream after shampooing. My hair came out extremely soft and healthy looking. I’m not a fan of the aluminum bottle and screw off top which arrived with dents in the cap. It would be easier to control the flow with a squeeze or pump bottle. It is pricey, but should last a long time since I won’t be using often and you don’t have to use much for a nice lather.

I haven't used a clarifying shampoo in a few years- so I thought I would give this one a try. First, the ingredients in Kavella Clarifying shampoo are vegan and friendly to those who have chemical sensitivity (no sulfates or parabens). You'll see ingredients like citrus oil, thyme, lavender and aloe listed. Second, this product works very well. I've been using this once every other week, and the days I use it my hair is soft, full of volume, and so clear. It has gotten rid of oily build up and allows my every-other-day shampoo to work better. I can't ignore the bottle- while I appreciate that the bottle is eco-friendly aluminum, it came dented (not the company's fault, but kind of inevitable) and while the cap came off easily, the top is a little small. Overall, very happy with this product- worth the money for your hair!

Its more for representation than how it feels on my hair, looks like a coke bottle. It just doesnt work with my hair, its long thick and wavy and I dont have a good texture when its dry. But it does smell good.

This shampoo is really great! I have oily hair with sebum build up issues. This shampoo cleans my scalp perfectly without overly drying. There is very little scent. It suds up nicely and you don't need a ton of product to get your scalp nice and clean. The only issue I have with this product is the bottle. It is aluminum and it is really hard to manage the lid in the shower. Pouring the product is somewhat difficult as well and it's really easy to pour too much. You also can't squeeze the bottle like a typical shampoo but this isn't really a huge deal for me. Overall, I really like this shampoo but I plan to put this in a reusable pump top bottle.

Good shampoo. Smells mostly pleasant. Comes in a cool metal bottle with an uncool top though. You have to unscrew it to get to the shampoo. Uh, why not a flip top lid or a popup spout like every other shampoo out there? Puzzling....

This shampoo provides your scalp and hair a deep clean without drying. It lathers exceptionally well and rinses out easily. Depending on the level of buildup you can leave it on your scalp and hair for up to two minutes before rinsing. You should use a conditioner after and you should only use this shampoo once a week- it is not meant for daily use. After my hair was soft and more manageable. you can smell all of the essential oils in the shampoo while using. In addition to myself, I also used it on my daughters and they both commented on how great it smells. It is definitely a more expensive product, but with only weekly use and only a small amount used at a time it should last a long time.
