It's not "name brand" but it might be soon enough! I got this because my son loves baseball and seems to buy a new glove every season. I thought this might help. I was right. He loves being able to break in his own gloves and being able to reshape them when needed. It's great quality! It's a win for our baseball family and I think it will more than work for most anyone.

This kit comes with a wooden glove mallet and a super strong elastic wrap around that attaches itself with Velcro. I purchased a new baseball glove for my son and he was having a bit of trouble since the ball glove was so stiff. I looked up ways to quicken the break in process and came upon this break in kit. I ordered it and once it arrived, we put it on his new glove. We put the wooden mallet in just below the pocket and wrapped it up. We were kind of lucky because over the next three days, it rained and stormed off and on where I live and we didn't get a chance to use the glove. I just left it wrapped up over those days. The next time we were able to go out and play catch, he said he noticed that it was much easier to open and close. Over the course of the next few weeks, I would wrap the glove up every few days and leave it wrapped overnight. I believe that with the glove being wrapped initially for so long and the combination of being wrapped every few days along with the glove being used got my son's ball glove broke in at least 50% faster than if we just used the old way of breaking it in. A great product to have if you need to quickly break in a baseball glove.

My son starts baseball this spring. I remember from when I played softball how AWFUL it is when you buy a glove from the store and it's stiff. You can barely catch the ball if you don't work the glove in before you use it. I used a glove softener spray and baked his new baseball glove in the oven for 4 minutes. Then I massaged the spray into the glove and used the wooden stick to hit the inside of the glove to work it in. I've been doing this for DAYS. When I'm not using the wooden stick to hit the glove, I squeeze the glove on my hand and use a real baseball to throw into the glove. I do this over and over again. Lastly, when I'm not working on his glove to get it broken in, I place a baseball inside of the glove, then use the black velcro to wrap around the outside of the glove. This helps the glove to form a pocket for a ball. It's definitely a process, but you really do not want your child starting baseball or softball with a stiff glove. This is a great kit!

I'm using this Rhino Wax Baseball Glove Break in Mallet on a new glove. It arrived today, but I can already tell there's no need to wait for results before I review it.I've already spent time pounding the glove with it. The mallet is made of one-piece quality hardwood. It feels comfortable in the hand while pounding away. This break-in kit doesn't include glove oil, but it does include a Velcro tie to secure the business-end of the mallet in the glove for shaping the pocket over an extended period of time. The mallet's handle is also designed to be used to loosen up the glove fingers. I've tested that and will complete the finger process once the pocket is done. For tonight, I'll fold the glove over the mallet using the tie to continue creation of the pocket, leaving it like that for a day or two.I am thrilled with this Rhina Wax Break In Kit and confident that in a very short while I'll have the broken in glove I want.
