s300i - garbage
It has overheating problems, it makes constant noises like static or popping noises, I have no idea what it is and I don't think the manufacturers know it either, since I had it repaired and after a while it did it again, the factory doesn't even respond, and they no longer repair these amps, its a piece of garbage that cost me $2500

Incredible Amp, Powerful and simple design, flawless for 8+years
I bought this amp used back in 2011. It has been incredible since and drives my B&W 803s. It is true Krell, powerful, incredible transparency, and a very elegant integration. This model was assembled in China, rather than HQ in CT, a minority in the audiophile think thats a minus, but its Krell designed circuits, all high end components, and the sound beats out McIntosh and Classe units in the same watt class for $2K less. I consider that a plus.

very nice cd players
i have the krell integrated s300i, i had other krell equipments, very nice cd players, krc3 and ksa100, now this krell is my first audio equipment after 25 years on audio, thet cant be fixed, the display went crazy and there is a noise, after some research this is not uncomon int his model, i have found others, the thing is, they told me in Argentina were i live by official channels, the represent the brand but they dont have the spare parts, and let me alone, i started asking the spare parts at least the display, but is the worst dont reply me, some call Raymond told me, he see the stock and get back never did, you should avoid this brand, is unfixable and is not care about customers, there is a lot of companies this one is not to trust in any country, is trash.

A True Krell Product at a Reasonable Price
This is a fantastic unit. Although it isn't cheap, it really provides outstanding value. I've been making consistent upgrades to my A/V system over the years, with most of my budget focused on two channel audio. When I made the move from a mid-level Marantz receiver to this integrated amp, the difference was astounding. Krell is known for massive power, clean and powerful bass, and extremely clear and precise mids/highs - without sounding sterile or taking away the emotion of the music. This unit offers all of that at a price that you usually don't see from Krell. I kept my Marantz receiver and use it for my video needs, and use the home theater bypass function so my two front speakers are always driven by the S-300i.Of course, everyone has their preferences. For those who like a really warm, lush sound - this may not be the best fit (a tube amp might be better for this). The speakers you pair this with also make a significant difference.Overall I think it's one of the best audio values I've seen. It runs hot, so you need a lot of ventilation. It's also not light - around 40lbs.My only complaints are: 1) the metal knob feels cheap. The rest of the unit is built very well though. 2) the remote is huge, bulky, and is not backlit.
