I've used on my fowl, dogs, sheep, if they get into a snag with bob wire, or something else outside, it's great after flush out a wound to stop the bleeding. Then treat with whatever safe remedy you have in your wellness kit. On our homestead we have to be prepared for anything!

When you have a lot of critters, keeping this in stock is a must. Especially if you have birds who sometimes break feathers that bleed and bleed and bleed. It could be very dangerous and life threatening for the birds. It is also great to have on hand for stopping blood from pets that might accidentally get caught on something and pull out a toenail, or for stopping blood when you've accidentally cut too much while trimming nails on birds, cats and dogs. This works fast to stop the flow of blood and helps seal the wound. This is a large bottle which is much cheaper than buying it by the small bottle, and it will last a good long time.

My dog cut the pad of her foot on some ice while running through the snow. Although it wasn't a dangerous wound, it was enough to cause her to leave bloody footprints on the floor while we were attending to her, and on its own, the blood was not stopping. That's when I remembered we had some blood stop powder tucked away in our camping gear. We put some directly on the pad where the cut was and placed a sock over it with some additional powder sprinkled inside. We intentionally didn't keep opening it and checking on the cut, but when we took it off 45 minutes later, there was no new blood coming out, and very little had made its way into the sock. The sock also helped prevent her from licking it (we were more concerned about her licking the powder than her foot). She didn't wince when we gently pressed it into the wound, and didn't seem to mind it for the period it was wrapped up (other than a lack of traction with the sock on). So far, this product is a winner in my book.

Blood stop powder is a must if your keeping livestock. works quickly to stop blood on livestock . i would recommend anyone thinking they might need this should get it.

When I was working beef cattle, we would use this all the time to stop blood loss after we cut the horns off cows. Works great for cuts on working cattle dogs and stab wounds from your wife when you went duckhunting instead of helping your in-laws with fall chores in their yard.

I realize this is a veterinary product, but I have used this on myself several times (gashed knuckle, torn nail-bed) and it works! In fact it works so well I now carry in my IFAK in two 5ml plastic vials for emergencies. You have to be careful about Iron or "sulf-ATE" allergies (fairly rare) and it contains alum / tannic acid (which stings a fair bit), but this in conjecture with a sterile bandage and good hygenic practices, I feel more confident when I'm on a long hike or in the woods by myself. Then there are all the veterinary uses too....

It stops bleeding. It also stings. A lot.

This was a good value and haven't had to use it yet.

Good product for healing animal and human wounds

I wouldn’t call it a powder, but more like course ground pepper. I used a coffee grinder to grind it to a powder.
