Q: Does the screen have a glossy or matte finish?

The one I received had a glossy finish. It worked well as a replacement screen for my Lenovo Thinkpad T450s, though the original screen was matte. This screen also seems to be brighter than the original screen. Anyone thinking of using this as a replacement for the screen in a Thinkpad T450s (or any Thinkpad) should be aware that in Windows 10 the brightness buttons on the keyboard will not work because of a whitelist in Lenovo's firmware that this screen does not appear on. I run Linux on this machine, which pays no attention to the firmware whitelist, so my buttons work.

Q: Will this screen have dimming control in windows? without hacking the bios?

Check the FRU no. If it doesn’t match (and even if it does), then from what I heard, yes. If yes, updating the drivers might work. Worked for me, but I don’t know why.
