It’s one of those tools that you don’t realise how useful it is until you start using it — now I keep it in the toolbox at all times. It’s a non-contact tester, which means you don’t need to touch any wires directly to check for voltage. Just bring the tip near a live socket, wire, or outlet, and it gives you a clear signal. It lights up, beeps, and makes it very obvious when voltage is present. This feature alone is a real game-changer when working safely, especially in tight or awkward spaces. The A1 model feels solid and well made. It’s lightweight and shaped like a pen, so it fits easily in a pocket or tool belt. The clip is a nice touch too, making it easy to carry around the job site or home without misplacing it. One of the standout features is the sensitivity range — it can detect voltages from 12V to 1000V AC, which makes it useful for all sorts of applications from basic home electrics to more advanced circuit testing. Only minor thing to watch is that it beeps quite loudly, which is great for noisy work environments, but might be a bit much if you’re testing in a quiet room. That said, it’s better to be safe and have clear feedback than not notice at all. Battery life is excellent — runs on a couple of standard AAA batteries and doesn’t drain them fast. I’ve been using it for weeks now and still on the original set. In short, this is a fantastic little tester.
