Heart-Wrenching & Beautiful
This story is beautifully heart-breaking. Asya experiences something no young woman ever should. Pavel has resigned himself to being alone after a lifetime of trying to prove himself worthy. When their paths collide as Asya is literally running for her life fate takes hold and what transpires next is gut wrenching, sad, slow, painful, beautiful, healing and freeing. When Asya frees herself from the clutches of a literal hell on earth she attached to Pavel who is in the right place at the right time to save her. Over the course of her healing he guides her with gentle hands and just enough nudging to help her without sending her spiraling. He tries to understand her trauma and accommodate at every turn. Together they create a bubble of just the 2 of them and start to grow and thrive. A brick is thrown through their glass house when people start to discover Asya's identity and try to interfere, disrupting the delicate balance they have created. The collective spiral that follows leads them to both discover that the opinions of outsiders doesn't matter. Love is Love and they are deeply in love. This book deals with some very real mental health / trauma issues and the author does it with such care that it never feels disrespectful or like a gimmick. The FMC also never comes across as weak and to be able to write a character dealing with trauma and make the trauma feel authentic without the character seeming whiny or weak is a true testimony to the quality of the writing.Their are no editing or grammar mistakes to make note of and the flow of the plot is great. Its a quick and easy read without lacking sustenance and a good story line. This book is also available on Audio with the perfect narrators bringing these vulnerable characters to life with the right amount of strength and compassion.

book 6 in the series
I have completely fallen into an obsession with this series 😆 I found it on TikTok and have been hooked! This series instantly had my attention and Neva perfectly gives her side characters enough attention that you’re curious and hooked on these people before the next book. I love her writing and this series is so beautifully represented. So much angst, banter, mental health is represented beautifully, disabilities are represented beautifully, these books are truly top tier mafia romance books, and they need to be talked about more.I easily give book 6 4 stars, it wasn’t my favorite in the series but I would never skip or suggest skipping it. This one is very healing and very deep in the mental aspect of things, our MMC truly feels like he is not enough for her despite how much she falls for him. This is Definitely one of the heavier books in the series, there’s a lot going on so please check your trigger warnings with this one, but our FMC has truly been through hell on earth, our MMC instantly has a connection to her and wants to help her heal. They fall in love overtime and it’s beautiful watching her heal, but he still feels he’s not enough. I don’t want to give away anything in this book, so please read it. But if you can’t handle a heavy book like this, please tread lightly mental health matters.

"I love you to the point of madness, Asya."
"I love you to the point of madness, Asya."Fractured Souls is the sixth installment in the Perfectly Imperfect series by Neva Altaj. This incredible five star mafia romance is part of an interconnected series but can be read as a standalone. This book is darker than any others written in the series, but the author does a phenomenal job telling the main characters story. Readers will get the same powerful, dangerous, and possessive mafia man that will burn the world down for his woman. This story will absolutely break your heart and wreck your soul, but it is a powerful emotional read.Asya DeVille is an 18-year-old young woman enjoying a night of fun at a dance club when she is kidnapped and trafficked. She endures significant trauma that shatters her soul before managing to escape. Pavel ‘Pasha’ Morozov has a troubled past that has channeled his trauma and climbed the ranks of the bratva. He’s not a soft or gentle man, but he has a strict moral compass when it comes to harming women. He rescues Asya from her horrible fate and devotes everything in his arsenal to help piece her back together. My heart broke for Asya. Pasha was an absolute angel and definitely melted my heart many times with his attention to detail. When he stopped wearing suits and ties because it triggers Asya’s trauma? *heavy sigh*This book was a journey of two fractured souls healing together. It was less about romance and more about growing a very deep emotional connection. Pasha is exactly the kind of man any woman would want to rescue them. He was just simply perfection. Definitely a heavy book but absolutely worth the read. Pasha is one of my favorite bratva men in the Perfectly Imperfect series!Tropes: Mafia romance, dark romance, age-gap, protective hero, traumatized heroine, happily-ever-afterHeat: 3/5TW: This book is a darker read than this author typically publishes. Please check content warnings. There is SA, violence, gore, drugging, death, attempted s**cide, trauma, trafficking, etc.

good
This was not the best or worst in the series. I don’t know. It was fine. I’ll keep reading more in the series.
