Fantastic!
Lightweight, straight, and built to last, the Maxima Photon arrows from Carbon Express are the real deal! I put these arrows through their paces with a set of field points and they performed above expectations. My only concern with these arrows thus far is that they are very easy to lose due to the neutral color scheme on the shaft and fletching. I spent more time than I should have trying to find an arrow that I dropped in the grass on my way out to the range, which leads me to believe these arrows would be *incredibly* hard to find if fired through (or past) a target in an actual hunting application. Even the slightest bit of color variation would help in that regard.Even with the coloration concern these are still fantastic arrows that deserve every one of the five stars in my rating for the product. These are built to last, they are accurate, and they are FAST off of the bow. This is truly a high quality product!

Good arrows
I like these arrows. They're well made, with straight shafts, clean fletching. They fly straight, and any inaccuracy is probably my fault more than the arrow's.I do agree with that other guy about the color scheme being unfortunate. I target shoot in an empty area of my backyard, with high brush except for the shooting lane, and if I missed I don't think I'd ever find the arrow again.

Nice arrows....but....WAY overpriced!!!
I think the company thinks they made these out of gold....WWWAAAYYY overpriced....$50 AT BEST....they are nice, but there is NO arrow in my opinion worth this price per arrow! Straight...yes, firm with minimal flex...yes, nice fletching...yes, nice nocks....yes....BUT, THEY ARE JUST ARROWS!!!!

Shoot Well, Low FOC, Messy Vane Glue Ups
Ultimately, these shoot well and are well suited for deer and similar sized animals with the included components. The white mid band and fletching makes it easy to see how good of a hit you made and it's a solid performer. These are lighter weight than I'd like for elk, but that also means they have a pretty high velocity and minimal drop at longer yardages. However, I've been shooting my Carbon Express Maxima Triads and was expecting a similar set up as that arrow. These have a larger shaft than the Triads (these are about 0.203 inside diameter and 0.26 outside diameter), but somehow are less grains per inch. On top of that, the insert/outsert on the Triads is close to 100 grains (without a broadhead) and these Photons have a 18 grain aluminum insert. This all adds up to a middling FOC (Front of Center weight arrangement), whereas I prefer 15%+ FOC for better penetration on elk. So, first thing I did was ignore the aluminum inserts and picked up some 100 grain stainless inserts from a third party company. That get's me closer to where I want to be and these shoot really well. (Gold Tip has a good online FOC calculator if you're trying to figure out where you currently stand). While weight and FOC come down to personal preference, I am disappointed in the fletching job. Every vane on every arrow has 1/2" of glue smeared past both ends of each vane. For the price of these arrows ($25 per arrow at the time of this review), I expected a cleaner glue up. Does it affect performance? No, they fly great either way, but it just takes a bit of the edge off of an otherwise sharp looking arrow. So, summary: Great arrow, flies fast, groups well, but I'd recommend aftermarket weights or inserts for the front if you're hunting larger game. The white theme makes it easy to interpret blood after a hit and slightly easier to find in some environments. The messy glue up on the vanes is cosmetic, but a bit disappointing finish to an otherwise pretty darn good arrow.

Very light weight and strong
These arrows are very light weight and strong. I use them with a recurve bow I have and they work fine giving consistent groups.
