This made a very nice gift for my attorney on his desk. Had it for years with no issues or wear and tear. I would definetely recommed this to anyone and confident that it will put a smile on their face

If you notice the other reviews, there are many complaints about how the sounding block "bounces" and doesn't make much of a sound; that has to do with four little rubber/foam feet that are glued to the bottom of the block. Once removed, the sounding block sounds works just fine. Overall, this is a nice package, and while I wouldn't say this would hold up to any "professional use" or repeated hard striking, it is fine for a fun, usable decoration around the house or office.

It is beautiful, and looks as expected. I would have liked something heavier but this is good value for the price. I found that pounding directly on a table is way louder than on the disc it comes with. Which kind of hops so it absorbs the blow without much sound. But still a great attention getter when conducting a meeting.

Meh, it's not the loudest thing in the world but it makes some noise. If you really want to call atention with this, you better hit hard. I haven't hit hard enough for its paint to disappear, and I hope it doesn't. The weight is kinda light in general for both the hammer and the base but at least the hammer have a little bit more weight on the head than the handle as expected. It's also kinda small, better used as a prop for some laughs. The base also shifts a little when you hit with a bit more strengh, so be sure to find a good non-slippery suface to put it on top.

I bought this for a play because it was real wood, but not expensive. It is very nice. The students thought I had borrowed one because it looked so nice they figured I wouldn't spend that much on it. I'm sure we will find plenty of uses for it. It arrived quickly and well-packed.

The gavel is very nice and makes a heavy authoritative "judge's gavel" sound when struck on a wooden table or heavy wooden block. Unfortunately, the lightweight sound block that comes with the gavel is useless. It makes a wimpy "hollow" sound and bounces when you strike it.

This is an excellent wood gavel set and I plan to give someone else an identical one with their name engraved as a Christmas gift. There were no surprises because it looks like the picture, and everyone seems to be attracted to it when they come into my office. Everyone wants to be a judge. Smile. Anyway, it arrived on time, packed well, and no damage to the merchandise. I will be buying from this seller again for Christmas and definitely recommend them.
