Pet Costume Hot Diggity Dog Mustard Large

I bought this for my lab who is around 50 pounds, and the costume fits around her middle, but the buns seem a little bit short. I expected the costume to fit because its a large, but I don't think it would fit a dog over 40lb unless the dog has an especially short body. I would call a costume in this size a medium, not a large. I'm disappointed because the costume is adorable.
