Welbeck Have You Got Anything Stronger?

I love all Imogen’s books. She writes both drama and comedy incredibly well and has a sharp eye for character, a sensitivity for emotional drama and a dazzling wit. This book is excellent. Layered with perception, wisdom, humour and pathos, it not only makes you laugh and cry, but it makes you really think! She holds a mirror up to our culture and is unafraid to show it as it really is, warts and all. I think Imogen is the Queen of satirical drama. A really uplifting, funny and thought provoking read!

Have you got Anything Stronger by Imogen Edwards-Jones is a story of modern everyday life for a group of forty something women wondering how they’ve ended up in their mundane lives. Troubled marriages, affairs, divorce and the disapproval of the yummy mummies at the school gates are par for the course here with the odd mid life crises thrown in for good measure. This all comes to a head when a serious accident takes place bringing everything to a head and making everyone concerned take stock of their lives. Is where they’ve ended up so bad after all? This book is a lighthearted and fun take on the ups and downs of adulting and was, to me reminiscent of the tv series Cold Feet.Thanks to Netgalley for this advanced reader copy. Loved this book, had sympathy with the heroine all the way through

I absolutely loved this book, never heard of the author before but I will definitely read more of her books.Quick page turner, really funny- breath of fresh air in an often glum world!Thank you.

Just started to read this book and it's had me laughing already. Going to be a great read.
