I wish I have bought it before my cat scratched my carpet but this thing works great to stop scratching. It has a great quality and easy to cut it even though it’s very thick.

They're very easy to install and cut easily with a good pair of scissors. There was no noticable smell, which I appreciated. I've had them for a while and they've kept the cats from clawing at the carpet by my door, so I'd say they're worth the money. The only downside, I'd say, is they come rolled up, so you'll want to use an iron and/or some heavy books to get it to lay flat on the edges. It will go flat eventually though, so I'm still giving 5 stars.

I picked this up to protect the carpet near a doorway where there’s a lot of foot traffic (and occasional pet wear), and it’s honestly been a solid solution so far. The first thing I liked is how low-profile and transparent it is. Once it’s down, you barely notice it, which is important if you don’t want something that looks bulky or out of place. It blends in really well with lighter carpet. Installation was straightforward. I just cleaned the area, laid it down, and pressed it into place. It stays put surprisingly well—I was a little worried about it sliding around, but it hasn’t been an issue. If anything, you just want to make sure you place it carefully the first time. Another big plus is that it’s easy to cut to size. I had to trim it slightly to fit my doorway and regular scissors worked fine. The material feels durable enough to handle repeated use without tearing or curling up. In terms of performance, it’s definitely doing its job. It’s already prevented wear in a spot that usually gets flattened or damaged pretty quickly. I could also see this working well for pet areas or under doors where scratching tends to happen. Minor downside: If you’re really picky, you might notice the texture difference underfoot, and on darker carpets it may be a bit more visible. But for me, that’s a small tradeoff for the protection it provides. Overall, I’d recommend this if you’re trying to protect specific carpet areas without committing to rugs or permanent solutions. It’s simple, functional, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

Our cats love to shred and tear carpet. Even when provided with ample scratching cat posts. And they especially loved it when they figured out they could rip at the carpet to get us to get out of bed to feed them. It took me way too long to discover these. We have one for every room in our house. Unfortunately, every carpet by the door has been shredded and ruined. These at least cover the ugly shredded area (they are semi transparent so you can see it a little but not a lot). Its also valuable to cover the shredded area becuase we have stepped on the nails and sharp edges of the hard wood flooring. These mats solve that problem completely. I did notice one downside, if the mat has to go on hardwood floor, over time it will damage the floor. (See picture) it has worn down puncture marks in the floor and made a huge scratch. So now we would likely need to replace our carpet and hardwood floor if we ever wanted to sell our house. I wish I had gotten these before the damage happened. It would probably still be worth it to have the damage to the hardwood floor to not have such ugly carpet now. The mats are easy to cut with household scissors. We had to use multiple mats to place beneath 2 doors that are close together. Then once my cat discovered the exposed area between them, she started ripping that area. I bought a 3rd mat and crafted it to fit in the area (see picture). I also included a picture of one area of the damage if you want some motivation to get some of these before your carpet is ruined like mine.

Perfect if you have a cat that is extra clingy/anxious when you leave for work or errands! Long gone are the days of ruined carpet!! It was also easy to measure out and cut to size! I've repurchased multiple times!

Works great. The new kitty can scratch at the carpet by the bedroom door all she wants, she can't get to it now! It's tough but doable to cut this with regular scissors.

$40 odd for this… what a rip off.

Worked great to keep our cat from teating up the carpet at the doorway. Great for apartments with carpets so you dont end up with move out charges due to damage.

Kitties were scratching under the door just destroying the new carpet. This took care of that. If you cut as well as the advertisement team did you should probably order a bunch and install as a side job...my cuts were terrible but still works fine.
