its a miracle!!!!!
Oh my goodness, this is the greatest invention...I have been using it on my 12 month old Labradoodle for a few days. He is not keen on putting it on, but after the first time, does not fuss. He used to pull a lot on his collar, particularly when walking with other dogs, now (and this was instant) he trots by my side. Tail is still wagging. I'm happier, he's calmer and happier. An excellent training aid. It really is magic.Must admit, I didn't watch the dvd until I'd been using it for two days, but turns out I was doing everything it suggested anyway. But I do recommend you watch it, it's very laid back and informal and very short, so you won't get bored.A friend of mine with a golden retriever had tried a halti previously because her dog didn't like it so gave up after one day. Having seen how well my puppy is doing, she has now given it another go (took two days for her pooch to stop rubbing his nose all over the floor and having a bit of a head shake frenzy) and she is now thrilled with her easy to walk dog.I shall continue using this, as suggested by Halti, until I can move back to the collar once my dog is fully comfortable with walking by my side and no longer has the urge to pull. Don't forget that praising good behaviour makes the training process much more fun for the dog and makes them eager to learn....I bought the medium size. It's perfect for my dog but would also fit ( in my opinion) anything from a small collie or spaniel up to a big Labrador or retriever. If you have a dog who pulls on the lead and you are willing to put in a little effort to let your dog get used to the halti, then buy this immediately. It really has changed our whole walking experience...it's fantastic!!!!!

Good but pricey now
Its a good head collar and stops my dog from pulling but I’ve just gone to purchase it again for my other dog and it’s now £5.00 more and charging p&p so not sure if it’s worth it

ease of use and good quality
good quality simple use well designed design is well thought out and helps to control the dog from dragging and going in front and soon learn to walk at your side and has to be used consistently as the dog leaarned that he was to pull but when reverted to just collar he was pulling and dragging as soon as this went back on he was walking normal at the side again.

Looks good, does the job, BUT.....
I bought these on the 5th Feb for my two young strong labs who pull (one of my labs has a large head but medium was ok fit wise for both of them). I had in the past used dogmatic and I did notice that the Halti felt much flimsier in comparison but it was definitely strong enough and worked and the lightweight material looked much more streamlined on the dogs head and seemed to be more comfortable for them.I use headcollars for the beginning and end of walks only and I did feel the halti was slightly more fiddly to get on and off than the dogmatic because the material is a bit less structured. I am not sure if it's because I walk two dogs together on a joint lead but I also noticed that the moveable padded noseband slips around to the side a bit and I kept having to correct it. Now despite having said all that, I still preferred the halti to the dogmatic because it just looks less obtrusive and more comfortable for the dog (and if we're talking pure aesthetics I think the dogmatic design is quite babyish and looks all wrong on my labs head with its cute repeating doggy design). Unfortunately though, this week (one month after purchasing) I have had to revert to the dogmatic because the plastic clip at the bottom of the Halti broke off and got lost. On this basis the dogmatic seems to be a sturdier product (and if you don't mind how it looks on your dog I would probably have to recommend it over the Halti). I did read on here however, that one reviewer has sent off for more clips for the Halti when the same thing happened so I intend to do the same and will probably go back to using the it as I think my dogs prefer them.By the way, neither make stopped my bigger lab from going into a sulk at the indignity of having to wear a headcollar! :-)

A real game changer for me
I have an 8 year old Labrador who continually pulled and he is incredibly strong. No matter how much i have tried i just could not get him to stop. I bought a good quality figure-of-eight lead, which was very good but it was too short and didnt provide enough distance for my dog to sniff around. I came across the Halti that i could use with my extendable lead. After getting it set-up (very important to do it right), the difference was incredible. No more crazy pulling and i could give my dog a bit more controllable distance and allow him more freedom. Initially he didnt like it very much, very understandable, but after a couple of days he was unfazed and no problems. For me this has been a game changer. I now enjoy my walks much more and im sure he does too. Without any doubt i would replace this if required.

Awful absolute rubbish
If I could give - stars I would. The product simply isn't fit for purpose. The material is incredibly weak and flimsy. The plastic as as cheap and brittle you could find and the rings wouldnt be fit for a key ring let alone a labrador. I had to to triple check I had bought a legit halti product. This is something you would find in a Christmas cracker and still be disappointed. The marketing and box say it can be used on labradors. Alsations big dogs the like. Again I had to double check I hadn't bought a child's toy or something to restrain a dead chihuahua. If I could get a refund for the time wasted watching halti propaganda and reading the box, (which is border line lies) I would.Didn't even get round the block before he ripped it and chewed it apart. If you have anything vaguely resemble a dog don't buy this God awful product.

A good dog head collar must also be comfortable!
My puppy Lab Rtriever is growing up fast and has now become strong on the lead!I decided to research online information of dog head collars. Some opinions stated that these collars are cruel and dismiss them, whilst many more consider them a valuable contribution to improving the control and reduced hard pulling when on the lead.Further, I talked to fellow dog walkers, and they all agreed that the dog head collar is well worth having. So armed this this information I looked online to choose one.Eventually I decided on the Halti Optifit Headcollar. The additional feature of an adjustable head strap seemed the best choice for me as size measurements taken from a supplier may sometimes be questionable.Delivery took 2 weeks due to being out of stock but that’s hardly Amazon’s fault. The head collar is fairly light with strong flat material. Some reviews have commentated that it looks flimsy and has easily been chewed through by even small dogs and puppies.I feel this statement is a tad unfair as it clearly states on the instruction not to leave your dog unattended with the headcollar on to avoid damage by chewing! (see attached image).Imo, the Halti dog collar is well made, and the flat tape design is deliberate so that it fits the dog’s nose more closely with less hindrance to the dog’s line of sight. The adjustable locking padded nose strap offers better fitting around the nose with two fingers slack for mouth movement then locked in position Imo, this lighter and slimmer headcollar makes for a more comfortable fit for your dog. There are many different makes of head collars on the market at present and all have their virtues and faults depending on your point of view. For me, this type offers what I'm looking for and only time will tell if lives up to my expectations. I already have a Halti 2-clip training lead - so every bit helps!

Absolutely Great, however......
Bought this at the beginning of October and it was an absolute game changer. My previously very stressful walks with my 34kg 1 year old doodle totally changed. The pulling stopped and it even reduced his reactivity to other dogs. I was SO HAPPY!! BUT my husband took him last night and when he returned I noticed the band wasn't over his nose and it has broken/snapped underneath! I couldn't believe it - it's not from pulling as that had been cured by the harness. I'm desperate to replace it but wonder if I should go for another brand? Sureit should last more than 2 weeks?

Best Halti Headcollar we found!
These Halti Headcollars actually really DO help prevent pulling, but the dogs really fight wearing them at first. We have a 9 month old lab who can already easily pull either of us over, or pull the leash right out of our hands, if she decides to take off. We cannot walk her without one of these collars. However, this is the 3rd headcollar we’ve had to try in an effort to get the right features. We originally purchased a different Halti Headcollar at the pet store that was designed so that the loop around the snout would release when the dog wasn’t pulling. Molly was quick to capitalize on that feature and hook her paw into the slack to pull the thing right into her mouth. After catching her in several successful attempts to chew through it, she finally caught me distracted and ruined it in a matter of minutes. So our daughter gave us an extra headcollar she had in another brand that was really very no frills. It was snug in the snout all the time, with no padding, so harder for her to get off - but after a walk she’d have a dent across her nose 😩 She hated it more than the first one and was constantly trying to get it off. Walks are no fun when the dog repeatedly throws herself to the ground to try to pry the thing off. This (3rd) new Halti Headcollar is the best of both worlds - it features a padded snout loop that is adjustable to fit snugly, but it does not have the release feature for when the dog stops pulling. It stays snug all the time. It also has the safety feature the first one had of a separate hook that clips to the collar so that if the dog escapes the head collar, the leash is still attached to her normal collar. Molly doesn’t seem to mind this one as much - I’m sure it’s more comfortable - so walks are much more enjoyable for all of us! Highly recommend Halti - and especially this particular model.

Excelente producto!
