Do not buy this. A splitting axe is far safer and faster. I injured my shoulder using this the day it came in the post. Even with my electric hammer drill (I tried a battery hammer drill first) the wedge got stuck in the wood (which was soft pine!!) and I needed to use a pliers to free it. I tried it again, got deeper into the wood and had to use my axe to split the log to free it. Even on logs with a 2 inch diameter, this barely works. This is a highly dangerous tool as when the wedge gets jammed in the wood, the wood will spin with the drill, injuring shins/ ankles/ wrists. Stick with the splitting axe or hammer-and-wedge, the job will be done much faster with less chance of injury or damage to your drill.

A great way to break your wrist. The videos they use to promote the item show it splitting cedar, which it does with ease - as you would with an axe. But try it with any other wood, with interlocking grain or knots and it just drills into the wood and stalls. A battery drill will not handle it and a large mains drill will try to break your wrist or leg.

simple to use

Used it to split logs. Had to extract it using a chainsaw. Only usable on brittle wood.

Works well. Only snag is. The arbour, once screwed into one of the drill bit. Gets jammed in tight when using. Making virtually impossible to unscrew.

Der Hölzspaltkeil funktioniert nicht er Bohrt nur Löcher und spaltet nicht. Ich werde ihn zurückschicken. Schade ums Geld .

Man kann nur kleine Bretter spalten.Der Akkuschrauber muss kräftig sein.

In den Werbespots lässt sich Brennholz mit diesen Keilen superleicht spalten. Tatsächlich muß die Bohrmaschine sehr stark sein, dass es wirklich funktioniert. Akku Geräte sind weniger geeignet.

Die Ausrüstung kann das Nadelholz (ca. 20 cm Dicke) mit einer handelsüblichen Bohrmaschine (Bosch, 600 W) nicht spalten. Der Kegel geht ins Holz ca. 20-30 mm in die Tiefe und bleibt stecken. Die Bohrmaschine kann ihn nicht weiter drehen. Also kein Effekt.Wenn Sie keine Bohrmaschine mit sehr hoher Leistung besitzen - Finger weg von dieser Ware.
