Love the keyless chuck
This is a beast- very powerful. It is also quite heavy, so be prepared for that. If it will be your one and only drill, you might want to go with a lighter version. I have a battery powered drill that I can use for most tasks, and I'm happy to have this one for the tougher ones. I really like the keyless chuck (why have I let myself suffer for so long?), and the torque handle is also easy to tighten by just twisting the handle. The variable speed mechanism is good, and it, of course, has forward and reverse.

Well balanced and works well
I got this for my dad, and it has been great. It had more than enough power to drill though some 1/8 and 1/4 inch metal plates, and it is pretty well balanced for a drill this big. I have a drill that has a pistol grip, but this mid grip handle is easier to work with.

More Power
I bought this drill because my cordless could not handle drilling 3.5 in. holes through 1-1/8 in. subfloor material. This was the only powerful drill I could find with a keyless chuck. It works great I just wish it came in a case because it an occasional use item that I would prefer to keep in a case when not in use.

DO NOT BUY “MADE IN MEXICO” DEWALT
Burnt up on 3rd use. Brushes had a burnt smell from very first click of the trigger. The Made in Mexico Dewalt tools are not legitimate. Do not buy. Corner cutting and cheap materials.

Powerful Drill
I have only used this drill a few times at this point but I bought it because I have one similar to this one that is more than 25 years old and still works well. I needed one for a 2nd home. It has the power you need for more difficult drilling. It's heavy but that's good.

Powerfull drill
Have a Milwaukee drill, 1/2 impact and was trying to drill 2" solid holes. Milwaukee started to smoke. Order this unit and much more powerful. The Milwaukee you can hold onto when it gets stuck, but this Dewalt will not be stopped, it will twist you around with it and is very powerful drill that will not be stopped for tough job. Very happy with it and would recommend purchasing.
