Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy - Series 1 [DVD]

I remember reading that Noel Fielding was making a show for Channel 4 without his Mighty Boosh partner Julian Barrett. This is that show. It completely missed it first time round, but managed to find this DVD at a reduced price.It's what you would expect from Noel; crazed and colourful with a dizzying cast of characters. Julian seems to have been replaced by Tom Meeten, otherwise it's all fairly familiar and comfortable. There isn't much of a structure to the shows, and there are a few misses along with the hits but the show is consistently amusing. Fielding may have been trying to escape the long shadows of the Zooniverse and the Nabootique but he seems to have created a Boosh Lite. Could have been great, instead it's just good.

I really love noel fielding and have been wanting luxury comedy on dvd for a while and I'm overjoyed !!!!

The sheer bloody genius of this show is to be applauded. To everyone saying that Fielding is no good without Barratt? No. They're both amazing as solo acts as well as a double. This show has such imagination - at times it's freaky and you don't know what's to come next. But isn't that the point? To be unsure. If you knew what was coming, surely you wouldn't be interested by the events on screen! Five star show!! Xx

Not to be compared to Mighty Boosh.... This deserves watching in its own right. I have loved the characters from Fantasy Man with his melancholic, hallucinogenic view point, through to Andy Warhol(downtrodden genius) and Dandylion (it's all coming together now) and more. I say this with 'proud red-feathered breast', (another 'tongue in cheek narcissistic' character) and would recommend this series to anyone with an ounce of unrestrained open mindedness. Long awaited release of this series can't come soon enough to this household!

This first series was great, but the second series fell flat. I have always liked Noel's bizarre avant- garde style. A worthy successor to the MIGHTY BOOSH,

I love the show but the DVD is so copy protected it only works on ONE of my DVD players. Once again, DRM punishes legit customers.

New favorite show. It is bizarre and hysterical, and I'm kind of sorry the second season wasn't quite as surreal. Well, more storyline was good. But so is this. Watch them both.
