Brilliant.
As others have already posted there is very little room for the battery to fit properly inside of this thing but once you get it sorted the little blighter does what it says, improves reception to the point difficult to hear signals are a lot clearer. Well worth the money.

Moonraker MRP 200 Scanner Preamplifier
I have now purchased TWO of these items. On opening the unit of the first one, to insert the battery, I found that the battery wouldnt fit without force, possibly damaging the unit. I thern an external DC source and hooked it up to my scanner. I found that only VERY strong frequencies could be heard and moderate to weak ones were obliterated. I returned this item.I saw a demonstration on Youtube, and gave the item the benefit of the doubt and ordered another online. This time the battery went in easily, and hooked it up to the scanner. Again, only the VERY strong signals could be heard ... the weaker ones disappeared. When I reconnected the antenna without the preamp inline, the frequencies returned. I did try the unit in the on and off position, and with battery and DC power source. It is a nice, neat and compact unit, and could be improved with the use of an LED power light. I just wished it would work properly.

A bit over powering!!
Gives more pulling power but would have been better variable power. Can be a bit over the top. Good strong case.
