Eduard EDK8224 Model Kit, Various

Eduard profipack kits are around the best available. Everything you need to produce a finely detailed is included in the box:Colour photoetch instrument panel and belts are standard, as are are die cut masks for the canopy.What is slightly different for this kit is the second photoetch sprue with engine wiring and additional detail. Also included are resin wheels. This makes this kit somewhere in between a normal profipack and a big Ed kit.The styrene is finely moulded with no flash or mismouldings visible. Ejector pin marks are shallow or tucked out of view.Overall this is a very impressive kit that builds extremely well.

Lovely kit, fit is excellent detail great, etc. But the decals? OMG, awful! The second they come off the backing sheet, they start to crease and fold. Then if you can get it on the model, it is almost impossible to position it without tearing, even with copious amount of Microset and extreme patience. May be a one off? I've build quite a few Eduard kits and not had this issue, but with these I gave in. Hours of work potentially ruined by rubbish decals. In the end I bought an aftermarket decal set, which thankfully was just fine. If you are buying this kit, I suggest you test a decal from the sheet first, one which if it goes wrong won't matter. If it doesn't behave, you'll have the same issue I did!
