this is a set of three book from essential ,intermediate, and advance so comes with 9 audio Cd's three Cd's for each book.so the books are very easy to follow,they have grammar explanation which i find really useful if you want to clear some grammar difficulties,these books are for totally beginners so they work on each words on the audio we got the English speaker and the Italian,so you got the English word and then the translation into Italian and then is a blank space on the audio that you can repeat after the Italian speaker so you can practice your pronunciation ,which i find really helpful, even the books comes with the phonetic of every word..so they work word by word so you can have a clear picture of the Italian sound.i do not recommend the book for advance student ,i can even recommend for intermediate student so you can "refresh" your Italian,but i do recommend definitely for beginner.it's a good value to start with.even i know it can have too much English on the audio...but if you drive your car or go by bus ,so you will not need the book in front of you because the English speaker can explain a little grammar on the audio,but her voice it's not that annoying which i enjoy to listen to both the English and Italian

It has been 4 months since I started the Living Language Italian course, and it is well-worth it so far. It was intimidating to open up the set of all 3 courses in Italian, but the best approach for myself was to take it at my own pace, and not move ahead until having mastered each lesson. Forget the "Italian in 6 weeks" type of approach, and go at a pace that suits you. The books compliment the CDs perfectly, and the voices are pleasant, even after repeated listening. I can already pick up phrases in Italian movies. Early days yet, but with much perseverance and effort, this could be the best move I ever made to learn Italian.

A very logical step by step course for learning Italian. Every step is reinforced by exercises and repetition. After a while the way of phrasing the language starts to sink in. The gradual build up of vocabulary is well done and remembering these new words is helped by continual use of them. The pronunciation is made clear with the discs. I feel it is good value with three books and 9 cds. Above all, as it is enjoyable to use, it encourages making an effort to keep going.

This course is very well structured and great for beginners and intermediate learners. It covers essential grammar and vocab and at the end of each Chapter brings it all together so that you can make and say a simple sentence. It also tells you how to pronounce new words (avere - ah-VEH-reh) and where to put the stress which is a help if you are learning without a teacher. The 9 Cd's are good because you can hear the Italian pronounciation. It is not illustrated with photos or pictures but it is very well ordered. I would reommend it to anyone in the early stages of learning Italian. There are also online flashcards and games to access online - see back of box for address.

I'm so glad I have decided to buy this course for Italian language, I'm a two foreign languages speaker and after going through these materials I'm happy to say that they are very well structured which makes it easy to improve gradually. All 5 starts reviews were right, happy to have read them all before buying.

Fantastic set of textbooks and CDs. Proceeds at a very manageable pace whilst remaining engaging.
